most of the new BMW has lsd.. In Mini it is an option, but in BMW (even 1Series) it is stock

Not in the US. The only BMW's that come with a limited slip are the M cars. BMW believes that DSC takes the place of a limited slip diff.

It should have the same effect, as the brakes slow down the spinning wheel.. However you will want to shut down DSC in sporty driving. :(

allmost every european BMW has lsd .. during I fasten my seatbelt I'm always turn off the DSC .. Should take picture of 745Li drifting with smokin' tyres :stickoutt

For everyday driving DSC works fine. It's when you want to autocross or track the car is where DSC falls on it's face. It's not designed as a "sporty, overcome the laws of physics" traction control, more of a "make sure the wheels don't spin when it rains" traction control.
