Ok, this is ridiculous...I can't say how f'ing disappointed I am at this crap. This is by far the UGLIEST of the Bangle designs. I don't even know what to say.

I accepted the 7-series, the 5-series started to grow on me, but this is just the ugliest car. I wouldn't be caught dead in this car. I could car less how good the engine is or the new technology put into this car; it is just too damn UGLY!!

It almost looks like Jaguar S-type. This just proves that no American should be designing German cars. If the ///M3 looks like this piece of crap, there is no way I am buying one. :mad

I agree. I prefer more rounded lines. The p-shoped M3 has to many sharp edges. Take a look at the Honda Accord 4dr sedan....I want a paternity test! :mad Sorry, I'm not drink'in the cool-aid. :rolleyes

I think it looks rather good, have you seen some of the early E46's with amber signals? Hideous.

E90 is bbbeeutiful! I didn't like the rear lights but first time I saw the car in live they fits .. btw Bangle didn't work on this project at all :nono , but he is one of the main designers who worked on E46!!!
The BMW strategy about changing the design of the models is for two generations and then totaly changing the line of the car. E21/E30 - very similar, but E36 very different. Then E36/E46 - similar, but E90 different! Think about this also for E12/E28, E34/E39, and now E60. For 7Series also - E23, then E32/E38 and very different E65 and similar E65 LCI (Life Cycle Impuls).
Trust me on this - I had a lot of contacts with people from the "kitchen" of BMW and I had some inside information.
For example one of my friends drives the 3 Series (E90) two years ago, but it was not looking like 3 series now. It was a totaly different car, BMW made some versions of the 3 Series so they choose this one and I think the car is awesome! And on the road it drives like nothing else!
Always think from this point of view - BMW never ever do something stupid! Most of the time they are huge steps infront of the competition.
For example - the iDrive first launch in the early 7 Series (E65). Nobody likes it, BUT in the new A8 you can see almost the same thing, and now in the new S class you'll see also something really close to iDrive.
So .. probably we'll get used with the model (E90) and after 20 years or so, this car will look "modern". It is not an easy thing to forecast the car design?!

I agree the newer cars are terrible. IMO the 7 series is the absolute worst followed by the 6 series, then the 5 series and 3 series. z4 is also somewhere in there. The x3 is awful and the new x5 due out looks bad too. BMW has gone to hell in a matter of just a few years.

I'm not a fan of the rear lights but the rest of the car looks really good. But then again, the new 5 and the Z4 are also hot.

you are wrong .. E90 is going to be the hottest 3 series ever made. I'd definitely buy E90 ..

i think the tail lights are a little on the ugly side imo.. other than that i think it looks pretty good!! the new 6 is sex and the new 5s look good to me too i saw one in real life the other day and i like it.

i hope they change the tail lights when they make a coupe e90 3 series

The E90 is facing more segment competiton than any other 3 series.

I think it has done nothing looks wise to distinguish itself from the others in an already crowded field.

I think it will sell but not to the levels expected by BMW.

hey, I happened to see both the E90 and new 7 series in person, a few weeks ago ( they were filming a bmw commercial on the canyon road that leads up to my house) and both cars looked great. I was dissapointed with early magazine photos but TRUST ME, the cars look much better in person, the new 3 looks very mature and overall has a much more mild appearence then the recent bmw products. I think everyone needs to keep in mind the fact that the e90 photos and cars that bmw has exhibited thus far are probabally the most generic and intended to appeal to the widest possible audience. I serioulsy doubt that any of us will be voicing a complaint once the sport, m3 and various other performance models are released.

Unless....they price it similar to the competition. That's an idea :)
