Assuming the new M3 has 400 HP and it weighs the same as the current model, what do you suppose will be the zero to 60 and 1/4 mile times on the car?
I'm kinda curious if it would be faster than a supercharged 99M3...Or I suppose how much faster will it be? is a better question...

Without knowing jack squat about the car, I'd guestimate 0-60 around 4.2 seconds, with 1/4 mile times in low to mid 12's.

I hope the E90 M3 lives up to expectations. If not, one of these or maybe a C7S will end up in the driveway next to my E36.http://www.fourtitude.com/images/RS4/RS43_1024.jpg

It will be with almost the same engine as E39 M5 which weights ~1800kg, the new M3 will probably 300kg less than the E39 M5. M5 is very very serious car, a friend of mine has E39 M5 and every time I drive it it scares me.. so I guess E90 M3 will have incredible performance.
E46 M3 is faster than E39 M5... With 400 HP I assume a 0-200 time of 15.x sec is possible. E60 M5 does 0-200 in 13.8 sec.

How is an e46 M3 faster than an e39 M5? and that 0-200 is km/h
edit: I noted the fac tthe 200 was in KM so people don't start calling BS :)

I believe the E46 M3 is a faster 0-60 car, but the M5 is a faster 1/4 car.

I think both the E46 and E39 are up to driver until you hit freeway speeds where the M5 starts to pull away. The M5 feels faster, after having driven both.

Yes, it's up to the driver, but while the M3 driver needs to be *really* trying and wringing the engine out,
the M5 driver doesn't really need to break a sweat. Torque rules. Period.
The M5 is fast. The M3 can be made to go just as fast but only in the proper hands
and with some degree of effort involved.

my point exactly about the new m3...the thing better have tq...i think the v10 m5 engine is great...but the tq is still lack luster...other companies are makin 500 hp 500 tq...bmw makes 500 300+ it just should have more tq to it in my opinion...then it would be untouchable...so for the m3 to compete wit this new rs4 which IS commin to the us....its gonna have to beef up tq...hp means jack if u dont have the tq to back it
