As I was coming home from work I had the top open, windows down, and music up. It's a beautiful day out, about 70 degrees out and I'm driving about 5 over the speed limit. I just made some good sales and I was on cloud nine.
As I'm driving along, this black CTS pulls out behind me and punches it and starts gaining on me. I figured it was just some old dude late for his bingo game, but he gets next to me and I realize he's got his windows down and was blaring Bon Jovi so I figured I'd take a shot at him. I see the light ahead turn yellow so I put the car in neutral and roll to the light. Neither of us has any cars in front of us. I blip the throttle and look over, he looks over and nods. It's on.
I pull up a bit so I can see the lights for the cars crossing in front of us. I see the lights go yellow then red. I raise the rpms to 2500, the light turns green, I slip the clutch. The tires chirp slightly and I'm off, I immediately put his front bumper at my rear tire. I hold him until about 35 when he begins to slowly pull. We keep going until about 90 mph and his rear bumper is about even with my front.
He gets into the lest turn lane and I need to go right so I wave and he gives me the thumbs up. Even though I lost, I went in expecting to lose and did better than I thought I would and he was cool about it so I was happy.
