Me: '03 yellow/black MCS with Magnaflow exhaust(lusty, throaty v8 sound), Alta CAI and 15% reduction underdrive pulley. I estimate HP in the range of 205-210 w/ these mods.

Him: '96-'99 E36 Dakar M3/2. His car looked and sounded stock(no obvious exhaust, lowering, wheels etc.).

Within two days of the last of these mods being made, I met the above on 35W going north toward downtown Minneapolis. He was driving along leisurely, almost lazily when I pulled up side to pace. I revved a couple of times and got his attention. He looked over and gave a thumbs up. I shifted into second at about 55 mph(putting me at between 4500-5000 rpm's) and shot forward to redline and then third. He did not follow. After a couple more times he still did not seem interested, so I went on my way.

After a couple of minutes of following me he pulls up and paces, I downshift into second again and wait for him to make a move. I hear and see him hit it and I follow suit in a fraction of a second. He pulled a half CL and then I began to pull him in at the top of second and I have CL near the end of third when we shut it down. He gives a TU and was smiling and laughing like he enjoyed running with a MCS.

Since I have put lowering springs and SSR's/SO3's. The new setup reduced rotating mass by 42 pounds overall.

Next: larger TB, headers, cams and high flow intake? :)

I've always wondered how a pulley, exhaust, intake, software Cooper S would do against an M3. Turner motorsport claims that the above mods will be as fast as an E36 M3...guess so. Good kill. :)

210 HP in a MCS would surely beat a stock E36 M3.

Those cars weight what, 2300 lbs?

Nice job, man.

SO3's are heavy, although very sticky. I'm switching over to the Toyo T1-S for the next set, they are 6lbs lighter a tire than the SO-3's and a good bit cheaper. Just an FYI if you are concerned about rotating mass. Nice run, I've always wanted to see how I fared against a Mini S.

Armo95: Kem is exactly right, 2678#. I wish it only weighed 2300# ;) . If I am pushing 210 HP, I have a power to weight ratio of 12.752#/HP. At 205 HP it is 13.063#/HP. An E36 M3(stock) is 3175# and 240 HP, a ratio of 13.229#/HP. :redspot
