I've got a stock '00 M Roadster and I'm looking to get a few baseline dyno runs in somewhere near Raleigh, NC. Is there a local or semi-local shop around here with a dyno? Any info about the cost would be good also.

Also, I'm new to the world of BMWs, if anyone wants to meet up and join me feel free to chime in :drink1

There is a Dynapack at Eurospeed Performance in Cary (forum sponsor) and an in-ground Dynojet at Carolina Auto Masters in Durham.

Is a Dynapack more or less a poratble dyno?

Sort of. It directly connects to the hub so there is no way to play with tire sizing, pressure, etc. Supposed to be "more accurate". I think they have a website if you google it.

I had my M3 dynoed there 3 runs, I think it was around $70 bucks or so.
It bolts directly to the hubs and they do a run in 3rd gear. It is the closest one I know of. :coolquick

If they say its more accurate then thats just funny because it's not....how are you going to measure power at the wheels with no wheels on. I've been talking with the guys on NCVW about setting up a dyno day at CAM. Probably can get it down to $50 for 3 pulls. I won't start the age old argument about eurospeed but all I have to say is PM me before you even consider taking your car there.
