You are looking for coilovers... No springs give that drop... Look for the SLAMMED E39 thread. Alot of pics there.

I knew it but did not want to believe it. I have always had my cars very low. on my e39 i decided that an 1" -1.5" would be OK. Did not want to go to crazy. What i did not know was there would still be so much of a gap in the front wheel wells (car is dropped w/eibachs now) not to mention my back is lower than my front. I have tried to tell myself i can live with it but it is making me crazy! I guess Coilovers is the only way to make it right.

yup... what shocks are you running right now? If Koni's you should get GC coilovers $400.

No easy way out, you need coilovers. I am in same boat, the back sits perfect and the front needs to be dropped another inch to 1.5in..

If my e39 gets carwash anytime soon (read: before next Christmas :stickoutt ) I will post pics of Koni/Intrax drop. the front is really low. so low in fact, that I wouldn't like it any lower.

I am going to sound like Steve Dinan, but coilovers are for the track. If you want to go that low, get an E46 or E36. A decent 1" drop and +18" rims may give you the look you desire without killing your ride quality. Nothing is worse than a nice looking Bimmer that rides like a trash can on steel wheels and no tires. Purpose should be higher on the priority list than looks. Just my "purist" opinion.

I agree!

There needs to be a compromise between looks and performance/driveability.

My current suspension rides just like stock... The spring rate is 350 and I think 275 in the rear. Even with four people in the car, it is still pretty smooth.

That is amazing, your car is dumped too. What setup? GC?

Yeah, I'm on ground control coilovers. I am getting new front springs rate 450 instead of 350 so the ride may be a little harsher but the 350 rides great.

I didnt want to sacrifice my ride which is why i decided to go with the springs. What i did not count on happening is the back droping lower then the front. When my tank is empty it sits about level but as soon as its full and my 109lb fiance jumps in the car it looks like i'm towing a boat (Not really but you get the idea).
I am running bilsteins right now and i would have bought some GC but you know the deal dont make them to fit the bilsteins only the konies. I was on the phone today with GC for a while and they may be able to make me a custom set. We will see how it goes. I ask myself is it worth all of this to have my front come down an 1in more??? I would have been find with the drop i have if only the front was lower than the back. Is there anybody out there who is happy with the drop springs have given them???? WHAT ARE THEY BECAUSE I WANT TO KNOW.
