idreamt... 02-18-2005, 12:17 AM Not German, But much faster. I need to sell my bike. I really don't want to, but my shallow pockets forces sale. I bought the bike brand new at Chicago Cycle Center last March. It was a new old stock item the had on blow out. It has a Hindle Titanium slip-on, -1 tooth on the front sprocket, 7,600 miles, it's silver and black and fast as sh#@. $6,400 is the pay off, you pay it, you have it. If your into bikes, you know this a dirt cheap price. E-mail me at idreamt_2@hotmail.com or call at 770-855-6644. I won't be posting pics, if you wan't to see it I'll be happy to meet you somewhere in Atlanta.
Steve.

Miknow 02-19-2005, 12:26 AM Bump for a great deal on an R1. If it was a 6 id jump on it. An R1 is too much bike for me.

my plans...actually only thing i am thinking about over and over is how much I trust myself on a jet like this..and if i wanna be all over the road in a few weeks in little tiny pieces...the hos wouldn't be too happy..they wouldn't know who to check in with...:)

I've owned a few bikes, but nothing like an R1.
Honestly, they are clearly, a BLAST, FAST and SHOWY.
Ok, now that we have that out of the way... something will happen at some point. Fact. A lot of times, it's just a little death wobble, or a little unexpected loss of traction in a corner due to sand or water, or a corner entry way too hot.
I was late to work one day on my K75s and was going down 85S at about 90mph. A 50mph cross wind almost blew me into the wall. The closest I came to death, I literally rolled off the throttle and fought like mad to keep the bike out of the wall as I was already out of the lane and in the debris on the side of the road. This was 85S after the Lenox Road and Peachtree street exits where you kind of get up on that bridge.
So, an incident WILL happen in some form or fashion but they do not always mean death, although it's right there for the asking.
I got a job on Roswell Road bac in the day. 2 lanes on each side with a center turn lane. All those people shooting into and out of the turn lane gave me the spook. I started having dreams I was sitting naked in the turn lane, kinda like the Michelin baby. Bike was sold within 2 weeks.
I want another bike, but Atlanta traffic is not safe in a car.
aMiR M3 02-19-2005, 02:47 PM I know what you are saying..and with atlanta traffic which is soo shitty and out of my hand plus how crazy I would ride the bike, I think that would equal death for me.. I was thinking about getting one and just using it in town going short distances but then that would destroy the whole point of an R1..it would be such a waste..
idreamt... 02-19-2005, 06:54 PM Thank you so much for mentioning how dangerous motorcycles are on my for sale thread. If I was posting just to talk about myself, I'd change my name to ADEEL!!!!!

sorry :confused ....
to keep things on topic..has it ever been dropped?
count_schemula 02-19-2005, 07:22 PM Apologies, I did not even really look at it that way. :(
They can be safe, no doubt. I've logged a lot of miles on bikes, but, it is a matter of when, not if, and any potential R1 rider would know this. When does not have to bad.
Good luck with the sale.
idreamt... 02-19-2005, 07:28 PM Yes......There is some damage on the right hand side of the bike. I took a low side spill in Alabama in september. It's all cosmetic damage, i.e. minor rash on mid and lower plastic, a srape on the bar end and a paint scrape on the sub-frame from the exhaust. I've ridden 4,000 plus miles since then and can reasure anybody there is no mechanical damage. It would cost $500 max to make the bike look showroom new but, I don't have the time or money to do it. As chesey as it sounds but, "my loss is your gain".
I don't know if you remember aMIR, but we've met before at my shop. I work at Nalley Infinity and we met each other when you and ali came up there a couple of months ago, I had the black 4dr e36. How's your car?
Miknow 02-19-2005, 09:03 PM I'm surprised no one scooped this up yet. I'd take it if my skinny ass could handle an R1.
SilvrGreyMatter 02-19-2005, 10:18 PM Is this (http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/2/4/78128324.htm) your bike?

yep
aMiR M3 02-20-2005, 03:08 PM Hey, yea I remember you. My car is running better than ever..that noise that day turned out to be some scrap metal that had gotten stuck between the timing chain cover and that tooth gear thing...thank god it was nothing else... Good luck on the sale on the bike..I think it is a little too much for me to handle right now..I have been thinking about it a lot though.
