Hi,
I'm in the market for a new car (ex has old car as part of settlement d'oh) and came across this 95 525i which seems pretty appealing to me, but I'm really not an expert...

Just curious to hear any opinions/insight you may have.
Thanks a bunch!

The E34 is of course one good looking awesome car! It drives really great too. I would think a 93-95 525i is probably a very reliable one too. I don't know how the car market in alberta is but I would suggest BMWs go for a little more over there then down here. I did a conversion, it's 95 525i with 90K miles for $9,800 US in alberta. Does that sound right? (Any canadians here?)

I am no expert either, but have been shopping the e34 for a bit, I think close to 10k is a bit high for that car. You can pick up 540's for around 10k. There were two nice 540's here in az in the last 6 months, higher miles but the alusil engine replacements negate that a bit as the motors have less miles on em, for 8500k asking price.. A lot depends on the individual car though, it is easy to look at the photo's and descriptions, but the eye tells the tale. I realize some just want the mileage and the dependability of the 2.5 motor, but the 540 is a good benchmark of value.
Thanks a lot for the opinions everybody. This helps me make a decision.

that car looks beautiful, and I know for sure that those M50 engines are very reliable and are good on gas mileage too. I get 22.4 in the city and 28mpg on highway, but I also got a 5spd, so yours will get less mpg
