View Full Version : Cobb Co. cops are st00pid
Sparc_it 02-16-2005, 11:24 PM ....if you didn't already know.
Anyway, I am out driving around tonight and I hear some sirens, sure enough blue lights are behind me. I move over to the right and piggy does a flyby (I am doin 50 and he past me somewhere around 80). I continue on wondering what his rush is and I hear more sirens. 2 more fly past me at around the same rate of speed. I wanna know whats goin on now. I speed up to around 70 on Johnson Ferry Rd. heading south toward Lower Roswell. I get stopped at the light at the J. Ferry, Lower Roswell intersection. I hear more sirens. I am looking around and all of a sudden one more flies past me taking a left from J. Ferry on Lower Roswell. He was going so fast into that turn he nearly slid into oncoming traffic and nearly hit the person in front of him as well.
Want to know what all this was about?
The was a drunk kid at the Cold Stone Creamery causing a seen and a "concerned" east cobb parent called the police on him. When the cops arrived, he ran.....across the street where he was aprehended by police.
How many of East Cobb's finest did it take to bring this young criminal to justice? 8 (cars that I counted in front of the building).
aMiR M3 02-16-2005, 11:26 PM damn..hahaha cops suck!
sirtiger 02-16-2005, 11:28 PM um, Krispy Kreme is having a doughnut sale?
Sparc_it 02-16-2005, 11:57 PM damn..hahaha cops suck!
It really shows that cobb police have nothing better to do than give speeding tickets.
adeelpowers 02-17-2005, 12:00 AM when I blew my engine I was stuck at the top of the ramp and EIGHT cops drove by me one at a time in a matter of 10 minutes and all of them ignored me trying to flag them down. I was in the MIDDLE of the intersection frantically waving my arms so someone could help me move the car into a parking lot and all EIGHT of them ignored me. I've come to the conclusion that not only are cops dolts, eight of them equates to one brain.
Yup they pretty much have nothing better to do. I got pulled over 2 times by the same cop in 2 mnths for tint violation on Johnsons Ferry Rd. He said if he caught me again for the tint he was gonna impound my car on the spot. What a waste to actually pull me over and actually call a tow truck to impound my car and have it towed to the police yard just for tint. I hate mf'ing cops. I laugh at their misfortunes when shown on the news.
adeelpowers 02-17-2005, 12:28 AM I laught at cops period. I know their secret for becoming a cop. They join the police force because they couldnt pass high school math, have a small penis, and because they wanted to keep on lifting weights and pushing people around. If cops really wanted to "maintain society" and "keep us safe" they would've joined something that involved that as well as higher brain power such as the CIA, Navy or Airforce. Cops suck at life and they know it.
I hear ya man. I can't stand them. They get no love from me. I love telling them to fuck off when the cop organization calls my house asking for donations. They must be sick. I would rather burn my money. When my shit got jacked last week the cop didnt even show to take a report after I waited an hr for his ass. His lazy ass called and did it over the phone. The hell with giving these fuckers raises.

cops wouldnt be so bad but they lack a few essentials such as common sense, IQ and authoritative issues. Them having a small penis doesnt help either.
aMiR M3 02-17-2005, 12:46 AM Seriously..couple weeks ago near state..it was late at night i ran into two girls..their car wouldn't start cause of their battery and they needed a jump..I had no wires on me so I wa slike stay in your car and lock your doors and i'll find someone for you..it was really late and in a bad lot...anyhow..finally i found a cop two blocks down..i go up to his window and knock on his window...he just sits there staring at me...has newspaper in hand..he slowly reaches for his gun and pulls his window down a bit and he's like what!?!?!?....I'm like there are two girls stranded two blocks down the road and it's not safe at all can you go help them...he pauses for a few mintues then looks at me and is like..sure..puts his window up and keeps reading his paper..doesn't even move...I was like wtf...so i get in my car..go back to the girls and they are no longer there..their car was but they wern't..i was like crap..they must be getting raped by this point..and i never saw them or their car ever again..long story short..cops are good for one thing...supplying judges with money to buy and maintain their boats...
Sparc_it 02-17-2005, 12:51 AM When you really need help, cops are never there. But whenever you are enjoying your car or god knows what else, they will bother you

Damn, thats F'd up! I cant believe that any person would do that! You're just a regular semaritian and you helped out yet someone thats paid to do that doesnt even do his duty. You shoulda burned his car down and went back to have a 3some with those girls.
PS-look for an exhaust.
Jean-Claude 02-17-2005, 12:59 AM Yea there are tons of useless cops out there. I have run into my fair share of them. But you know some of them take their job serious and would die for people who hate them, to keep them safe from harm.
Are we just talking about the cops who are a waste of tax payers money? Or are we talking about all of them? :(
My mothers life has been saved 2 different times by officers. Yea, I am glad that she didn't happen upon 2 idiot cops.

not ALL cops are bad. But, sadly, there quite a number of them that mess up a some-what prestigious career. If they started hiring based on intellect we wouldnt have this problem.

I agree.
In my area officers are respected cause they don't do crap like that for the most part. Except for 2 of them that are no longer around here....( I ran into these 2 on the wrong night :mad )
Then there is Porterdale. The town next to my town. They recently made national news when 2or3 cops were fired when the town judge found out they had a bet to see who could write the most tickets. They wrote some-odd 300 tickets each in a 1 stop sign town, when normally each officer writes about 70 tickets. Not all tickets were legal. The abuse of power ticks me off.

I wasnt, that was my cousin though.
Here is another fine story of our wonderful cops back in 93'-94'. When I used to live in Augusta GA they use to have cops on horses in the downtown area. I was cruising through downtown Augusta at 7-8am to cut through Aiken S.C. I was bumping my music in my car (had 2 12" subs) when the 2 cops on horses started chasing after me flagging me down. I was about to say F this and take off but I assumed they got my plate. So I pulled over. They gave me a ticket for loud stereo and then asked me what I was doing in this part of town and where I was going? And then asked me how did I get my car and where did I work? The questions weren't because they thought I was cool and wanted to know. I was 18 with a hooked up new nissan maxima, with rims, stereo, lowered etc... and probably assumed I was dirty.
when I blew my engine I was stuck at the top of the ramp and EIGHT cops drove by me one at a time in a matter of 10 minutes and all of them ignored me trying to flag them down. I was in the MIDDLE of the intersection frantically waving my arms so someone could help me move the car into a parking lot and all EIGHT of them ignored me. I've come to the conclusion that not only are cops dolts, eight of them equates to one brain.
I had the same thing happen to me when a fuel pump relay died on my Nissan. The car sputtered and died almost in the middle of the Northside/14th St intersection. TWO cops passed me while I was waving at them, and one almost hit me as I was trying to flag him down because he was too stupid to realize a car with its hazards on in the middle of the road is obviously broken down. All I needed was an extra set of hands to help me push the car into a parking lot(was on a very slight hill).
Had to finally just call my roommate and ask him to come help. Thankfully he was at a bar not far from there.
Experimental M3 02-17-2005, 03:56 PM I have come to this conclusion about police officers: They are a clean up crew. Once a law is actually broken, then they might be interested. But if you're stuck somewhere or need some actual help, good luck. I never depend on police and never plan to.
2K5 325i 02-17-2005, 05:23 PM like i always say "to protect and to swerve"
MCoupe434 02-17-2005, 08:19 PM When cops have nothing better to do than write speeding tickets and enforce petty rules, thats when I get ticked off. Yes, they are needed to maintain society and all that stuff. But honestly, sitting on the side of I-75 north around Acowrth, around 11PM, giving tickets for going 15 over, yes this is retarded. Thats my .02.
If it makes y'all feel any better, I ditched a GSP the other day. He was sitting on a Carpool lane on-ramp that is in the middle of the freeway, but up high level with the overpass. I really hate it when they do that, because you can't see them until you've passed them. :( I'll leave out the rest of the details in fear of self incrimination. Anyway, HAULED A** after me.
Let's just say it didn't work out the way he planned.
He had to be pissed. :D
Chalk another one up for us. :buttrock
BlackWolf 02-18-2005, 05:04 PM What i hate is(without going in details). You get a ticket and try to explain that you are not at fault and point out signs, etc that support your case. They say "Let the judge know and they will correct it". Then you get in front of the judge adn he states "you would not be here if you were not doing anything wrong". It is the endless cycle of give us your MONEY and "go away kid you bothring me"

We're still losing because of me. Im bringing the team down, im the weakest link.
Good bye.
M Junkie 02-19-2005, 01:22 AM not a big fan of cops myself, but i gotta say, i think they are taking too much sh*t here. I know a few through family friends......one got shot in the back of the head from a guy who refused to pay a 5 dollar cab ride. the fact is, if the sh*t hit the fan they would do everything possible to protect your ass.
lets also be a little fair here..... dont we sometimes deserve some of the crap we get. ive received warnings for stuff that i shouldve got'n a ticket for and ive received tickets that i maybe should got'n a warning for. gotta take the good with the bad

nahhh... They deserve more shit.

Exactly.
I got nailed New Year's Eve in the afternoon driving home on 285.
Why? Because I was going three (3) miles per hour faster than the people around me.
I chose to go around a car, didn't see the bike cop at the exit, got nailed. Never mind the fact that everyone around me was going 25-over, I hit 28-over, and thus I must have deserved to get nailed.
Yes, there are a *few* good ones, I got to know some of them working for a city govt for 5 years. I also got to know some of the a**hole ones as well.

2K5 325i 02-19-2005, 01:07 PM how in the name of god did a BIKE cop get you? a... MOTORbike cop? or a pedal cop?
if you got caught by a pig on 2 pedals, we need to mod your car some more.

/\/\ Power 02-21-2005, 05:05 AM A sheriff went to my co-worker's apartment, took his tag and left. Why? Because the co-worker had not paid a $36 renewal fee. Thing is....he DID send a check, just that it didnt go through cuz when his wife was writing the check, her pen ran out of ink so she had to use a different one. So the bank did not let it get cashed. Sheriff never sent a warning letter, never said something, didnt warn them in person, just took it and left. Doesnt it feel good to know that our tax money is going towards sending out a sherrif to collect a $36 not paid fee. Probably took him 45mins-1hr to do and he gets paid like what? 50k a year? Mean while a woman or child could be getting raped 2 blocks away, but who cares, $36 much more important. It's a damn shame.
adeelpowers 02-21-2005, 05:07 AM All cops should have electric collars around thier neck
A close friend of mine fell asleep at the wheel the other night, totalled his car, and ended up in the hospital. Cops issued him failure to maintain lane, hitting a stationary object (fire hydrant and a tree), and to top it off, A DUI. He hadn't even been drinking. We're hoping the hospital took a blood test, as the cops didn't administer any tests in the field.
I too have been friends with some really great people who are officers and detectives. None of them live in Georgia. And whatever happened to protect and serve. I think it's absolutely rediculous that an officer can't even show up to take a report from someone like Dean (something that some insurance companies require to pay a claim), but they've got plenty of time to sit on thier ass in their patrol car idling away the fuel waiting to issue a ticket to somebody for a minor infractioin.
IMO, there was once a time when the police were respected and admired. It's thier own fault that they have the public opion they do now. They are just as responisble for their own behavior as I am. Difference is, they are never held accountable unless somebody caught it on video. They've brought the hate upon themselves. F'em.

Thats not that bad. A little touch-up paint and you are set.
Section8 02-21-2005, 12:44 PM I think that right corner light has a crack in it too.
Adeel I hear you, and have to agree.. Yes, there are some fine upstanding officers out there, but you just can't find them through the fields of corrupt blue at times..
Officers should be split into 2 divisions. traffic only cops (and their # way reduced and turned more into an emergency service role vs issuing tickets to increase town/city revenue..) and real officers who actually work on solving crimes, writing up statements, investigating, you know real cop stuff.. It's a shame to see 6 cobb county bike cops sitting on a 25mph OFFICE COMPLEX ROAD hitting cars with radar after a monster hill with at least a 200 ft slope, just to fill f*king quotas...
Msphynx 02-21-2005, 01:08 PM Depending on the grade of that hill they may be in violation. I recall a portion of the GA code in my prior ticket research where they basically can't write a ticket for something like a 7% or more grade.
/\/\ Power 02-21-2005, 01:23 PM ^^^ I can picture someone from this board going to the hill with a level or something and measuring it, lmao.
Sparc_it 02-21-2005, 01:35 PM Cobb 5-0 sit in front of my neighborhood everyday around noon-1 catching speeders coming in from fulton. There is 1 cop on a hill with radar and 2-3 chase cars....for people breaking the 60 barrier.
Section8 02-21-2005, 02:42 PM Depending on the grade of that hill they may be in violation. I recall a portion of the GA code in my prior ticket research where they basically can't write a ticket for something like a 7% or more grade.
I won't be measuring the grade but I'd be shocked it it wasn't. It takes me deep into the RPM's of 2nd coasting down w/o any gas (steep and long). It's windy hill after it crosses powers ferry and turns into the Wildwood Office Park road. Like clockwork, towards the end of the month they line the bottom of the hill (neatly tucked behind trees) to nail folks.
Sparc_it 02-21-2005, 02:46 PM Provoke them and rev your car in front of them. If they pull you over, say you missed the shift ;)
Msphynx 02-21-2005, 04:27 PM Provoke them and rev your car in front of them. If they pull you over, say you missed the shift ;)
I always like the fast run from stop to speed limit. There is no law on how 'quick' I get to 55 mph (or whatever the posted speed limit) Only thing I gotta watch for...can't chip the tires, exceed the limit, tailgate, drive reckless, etc.
Of course the best way to deal with them is to simply screw em back by saving others from a ticket. Thanks to my V1 I can usually warn those behind or those on the other side I see heading to a bogey I just passed.
Can't stand em....revenue whores is all they are. It'd be different if they were getting a 'cut' or bonus for 'saving us' from our driving. Of course they'll watch people change lanes without signals, make a right off the hwy from the far left lane and numberous other things they SHOULD write a ticket for, but they don't. However,....go over the speed limit and they'll nail you.
BTW.....not that many are getting hit with radar anymore but speaking with a cop recently he told me if you're going to fight a ticket there are 2 things to know.
1. Radar - It's so wide they just pick an unfortunate soul from the pack. Could have been ANY one of you speeding, he detected the FASTEST speed in the pact (maybe it was or wasn't you) but they can never 100% truthfully say it was you unless you were all alone. (not that truth matters I suppose)
2. If you goto court. Don't forget to call into question the cops LOGBOOK, they are supposed to write down EVERY single ticket they give out and the details in it. This cop told me on that basis alone he'd loose every single case he has since he RARELY writes them down. If you're unlucky and they did write it down, likely you did something they wanted to remember for court (i.e. you were an ass to them or something) you may be able to challenge if they didn't write down EVERY ticket for the day, etc...however ultimately if yours is in there, you are probably screwed. But usually 'most' he said in his experience don't write it down.
3. laser - your pretty much toast...it's you... no doubts so if you manage to get out of one...write a book and make money with it and let me in on it also!
Sparc_it 04-20-2005, 10:02 AM Apparently you can get arrested if you yell at someone in public if there is a cop around. I got a call from my friend in jail in the middle of the night to tell me he was thrown in for getting in an argument with some guy at QT. There was a cop there and apparently he took them both to jail for simple assault.
That is some serious bullshit, since when does yelling get you arrested.
