As some of you know or may not know Ive been in the process of upgrading my aa s1 g2 on my 325is. Im now at a stage where Im making the piping that goes from my IC to the throttlebody and want to know if I should change the location (from whre AA put it) of my diverter valve to somewhere closer to the throttle body. My question, is the closer the better or is where AA put just fine? Is there any pro's vs con's that I need to know about?

thanks guys
Steve

Question: Why would you change it if it works? :confused

I want to know if there is any advantage to moving its location

I want to know if there is any advantage to moving its location

Does it perform its duty right now?

In theory, the closer to the TB, better throttle response. But the diverter is after the intercooler anyway. So it will be unnoticable...

Come on Boris, quit being so nitpicky :) The guy is asking for help. Just because something works doesn't mean it can't be improved upon. Take for instance, tuning....

I'm not being nitpicky, but if a piece of hardware is performing its function, why change it?

Anyway, my .02 cents: that entire pipe is pressurized and as soon as any part of it leaks the pressure in the entire pipe will bleed off... the difference between having it right at the TB or at the IC is measured milliseconds...
