For Sale: Magellan Meridian Color Handheld GPS System, MapSend Direct North America mapping Software, 12v car lighter adapter, and carrying case, all users manuals.

Originally purchased for a trip out to the Wild, Wild, West, which turned out to be not quite wild enough to get us lost. As a result, everything is in mint, basically unused condition. Color screen, audible turn cues, on-board memory expandable with standard SD memory cards. Runs on two AA batteries. Weather-resistant rubber seals and trim. Mapping capabilities include constantly updating routing to custom user-specified locations, or pre-loaded landmarks, points of interest, even restaurants. (Dazzle your date as your James Bond-like gadget points the way to the nearest dry vodka martini!) :cool

Original price of unit, software package, and accessories: $400, $150, $50 respectively.

The whole kit & caboodle is yours for the bargain price of $500.

Oy, these are sweet. I used an earlier version on a trip to Big Bend, TX.

Used to have one at the old job, but it was ipaq-based for custom file creation.

Plus, Magellan pretty much makes the best consumer-targeted units.

Would you like a new one? :D

You're right, it's a great unit, and worked quite well on a 35-mile test run I made to an unknown address. The software is cool, too. You can plan & route yourself a couple of different ways. Quite versatile.

I'm just such a detail nut, I did tons of "homework" before the trip. As a result, we basically knew where we were going and how to get there before we even left. It was funny, in a way. The whole time, it was like, "We're here? On time? We're not lost?? Darn it!!" :rofl

Never even took it out of the case!
