12: Monthly Chapter Meeting at Strictly German*
Strictly German To Host the Peachtree Chapter in February!

Bobby Thrash of Strictly German in Braselton has invited the Peachtree Chapter for our February Chapter Meeting. Join us Saturday, February 12th at 2 PM for clinics presented by Strictly German technicians. The planned agenda includes:Restoration bodywork with rust versus production repair, Engine swaps, and Restoration painting. If that isn't enough, A Schnitzer prepared McLaren F1 will be available on-site for viewing! Refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you at the first Chapter meeting of the New Year!

Anyone interested in meeting up for lunch before hand and do a drive to Braselton? I am in Roswell if anyone in the area wants to meet up at Andreti or Perimeter Mall; it starts at 2, so I would say meet at around 12-1 then head from there.

Well, shine my shoes... I have a soccer game Saturday at 2.

Oh well, thanks for the invite. I bet that McLaren will be uber-clean.

huh. Didn't hear about that meet! :shifty That sucks, won't be here this weekend. But Bobby's got some hot sh*t up there as of last weekend, I'm sure it'll be worth your trip up there. :D See if they have any silver E30 trunks yet that don't look like absolute hell, I struck out last weekend.

I'll be there.
How many people are actually members of the local chapter? I heard about this back at the Xmas party last month. I thought more people knew.

I am, but haven't been to a local meet yet, other than DEs.

I'm game for sure, though I may need a ride (Alpharetta) if I don't get my bearing replaced by then.

Q: Must one be a CCA member?

If so, where does one sign up. I've been meaning to do it anyways...this would be a good reason to get my butt in gear and do it.

Just for clarity, you do NOT need to be a CCA member to attend.

I may come but I'm not really wanting to go to something of the sort in the 7 which is all I have to drive right now. But if I get bored I may stop by.

I say skip lunch or fend for yourself and meet at 12:45 at perimeter mall - whom ever shows leaves at 1 (even if it's just me). Why don't we meet at the usual group meeting spot outside the new dillards on the far end of the parking lot.

I have a black M3 just like the one in the picture below.

Sounds good... :cool Hope it's a little warmer on Saturday.. Wonder if they'll be fixing minor dings. :(

Yeah me too - as a second suggestion for a get together if anyone is interested. I am spending all day Saturday clay barring my paint and reinstalling the Zaino Wax/sealant. The weather should be low 60s and I have an extra space in my garage if anyone wants to partake and do the same...

If you haven’t used zaino, your paint hasn’t lived. It is the arch nemesis to swirl marks!

FYI - beer not included (sorry, I'm broke) :(

Yo, can you show me how to do that when my car gets out of the shop. I really want to learn how to and see the results of the claybar thing. I detailed cars when I was in high school but we never did any of that. I really want to know how to do that. Are there instructions on the clay bar, where can you get it from as well?

Clay bar is the bomb. Typically when you buy a claybar set is has instructions to use their (maker of the set you bought) "special" spray/lubricant. You just spray a small area, flatten the bar into a silver dollar sized piece and gently rub it over the surface until you feel the contaminants lift and everything becomes smooth as a babys bottom.

And if none of you have felt a babys bottom, they're pretty smooth. :D

Twice a year is a good recipe followed by a polish and a wax.

Interesting, I was thinking of giving the car a bath as the rain ruined my 2 1/2 hour wash on Saturday! :( I've got a huge 2 liter bottle of Heineken (sp?) and a couple of Warsteiners I could part with, only 2 or 3 though, remnants of the Super Bowl.. :D

Yeah - no problem - it takes a good 4-5 hours to do the whole process. Go ahead and hit the zaino website I left in my other message and shoot me an email when you want you want to do it.

So, 12:45 @ Perimeter it is!

Think one might be able to swing a ride in that fiesty beast? (I'll have the Montoya shirt on)

Looks like I'll be there driving my amazingly non-BMW work van (I got the car up and most everything off but my old bearing, guess I'll have to finish it up tomorrow). See you there!

Could have been. Do you remember where you saw it? I live right off exit 17 and my sister lives off Waldrip Rd. I haven't driven it much since the weather has been kind shiatty on the weekends lately. Only has about 400 miles on it right now.

Had the car since first of January and it could have been me. The car is a bone stock white GT3 with black interior. Wheels are stock painted silver wheels. Could have been me going over to my sisters.
