We'll have a camper in the World Challenge paddock. krisko 02-08-2005, 12:21 PM I really want to go to Sebring...so bad I might even blow off racing at Road Atlanta. Justin95GSR 02-08-2005, 02:09 PM I'll be there, I think. We should meet up if a bunch of us go. I'll be with Trenton Foraging (GTO) team. dhabes 02-08-2005, 02:29 PM I'll be there, I think. We should meet up if a bunch of us go. I'll be with Trenton Foraging (GTO) team. Justin, you work for them? If so thats pretty sweet...the Osborns are quite possibly the best people in the paddock. I wish I could go but Ill be missing a week of school for Big Ten swimming championships and cant afford to miss another. The battles are going to be great. IIRC, Dyson switched over to Michelin which should be better for them. There will be some old C5Rs and some Saleens too. I think some old 550s will be there too. Plus Panoz just announced another car, so they will have 2 cars in GT2 with Auberlen behind the wheel of one of them. Should be sweet. Shady3One3 02-08-2005, 07:26 PM Maserati MC12's are pretty much confirmed to be there as well. Its going to be an AMAZING race! Shady3One3 02-08-2005, 10:20 PM Scratch that, they ARE confirmed. One for Wayne Taylor, one for Risi DannO 02-08-2005, 10:26 PM I'll be there. Bryan - missed you at Winterfest. Too bad about the car. I'll catch you this time for sure. sunir 02-08-2005, 10:29 PM when is the 12 hrs of Sebring...like which weekend/date? Also I assume Speed will have live coverage...is this accurate? thanks...can't wait to see it... Bry, is Billy going to be racing in the WC TC race? If so I wish you all the very best of luck man...the whole Motorsport Connection gang is good people :) B.Watts 02-08-2005, 10:38 PM Yeah, Billy's racing. I plan to lock him in a porta-potty and drive the car instead though. DannO - Still not 100% sure I'll be there. Depends on whether I have a new job or if I'm still working for myself by then. Shady3One3 02-09-2005, 12:00 AM Sebring is March 19th and SPEED will have coverage. jamesclay 02-09-2005, 02:28 AM Whoever gets down, stop by our paddock and say hi. After qualifying is usually the slowest time, but no schedule has been released so I don't really know. If the results are right this year, I think the team plans on staying around for the 12. Justin95GSR 02-09-2005, 10:11 AM Justin, you work for them? If so thats pretty sweet...the Osborns are quite possibly the best people in the paddock. Nah, I don't work for them. I work at the hospital where Jim O works at. And I am friends with one of the guys that was on the pit crew for Chilli Pepper racing when Jim had his BMW. They are now one team with Trenton and Jim is driving a GTO now. I usually try to make it to all the Road Atl races and hang out with all them. Ya Jim and all the guiys are really cool, the guys from TF are really cool too. I drop in at Bimmerworld too and go see seth. What's up Seth.... I'm looking forward to seeing you guys running towards the front this year. I hope you guys can outrun the Turner cars , that would be cool. But I gotta stay faithful to RealTime. They were my favorite since back in the day when I started watching World Challenge. Matt Plumb let me get in his TSX, that was pretty sweet. I don't have any pics of it but I got some video. Seth Thomas 02-11-2005, 05:51 PM Like James said, any of you guys that are at Sebring for the race stop by our paddock area and say hi. I am pumped about this race as it is going to get our season off to a better start than before. Hey Justin, watch out cheering for Realtime. You can give those guys props but when it comes down to it you know who you gotta cheer for. BimmerWorld is definitely going to be a team to watch for this year. It is going to be a lot of fun. sunir 02-11-2005, 07:48 PM when it comes to WC TC, I always pull for the BMW teams, turner, Bimmerworld...although Turner has drivers like Auberlen and is a very good team indeed I think BW's team is getting better each race and really becoming stong, plus I feel more like bimmerworld is like our boys and to me that's a big part of who I root for! :alright ...heck I've raced along side with Richmond in my first race last April in CR & shot the shit with him in the paddock, bought stuff from Clay and talked to him tons of times, chatted with Seth and got advice from him back in the day before I got my LTW...seems more personal to me when bimmerworld wins, I feel kinda like my buddies are winning and that's just plain cool :) ...best of luck in '05 fellas! :buttrock DannO 02-11-2005, 08:18 PM I'm with Sunir. Can't complain when Turner wins but I'm a BW bitch. krisko 02-11-2005, 08:36 PM Wait a minute, can't we root for BW in WCTC and Turner for GrandAm (does Turner have a TC team anymore?)? That is until 2006 when BW goes to GrandAm, then we'll have to choose a side ;) . Justin95GSR 02-12-2005, 01:46 AM Hey Justin, watch out cheering for Realtime. You can give those guys props but when it comes down to it you know who you gotta cheer for. BimmerWorld is definitely going to be a team to watch for this year. It is going to be a lot of fun. Ya, You're right. I don't get to talk to them here on BF now do I. haha. Nah, anyways, ya but you guys and them are my favorite teams cuz ya'll are the only ones that I have personal contact with someone on the team ya know. I am going to be at Sebring for sure. My dad said he wanted to come with me but even if he doesn't come, I'm gonna drive down there myself. All 10 hours of the drive, and just gonna camp for Friday and Saturday night. I hear the ants are bad when camping, but what the hell.... Sebring is so small it's hard to find a room there. And it's cheaper anyways. Hey Seth, you guys gonna stay for the 12? I'll come hang with ya'll and watch it if you do. Did you hear that Prodrive is bringing the Ferrari 550's? That will be nice to see the Ferrari 550s, the Corvettes, and the Aston Martin DBR9 all battling it out in the same class. Justin95GSR 02-12-2005, 01:50 AM Wait a minute, can't we root for BW in WCTC and Turner for GrandAm (does Turner have a TC team anymore?)? That is until 2006 when BW goes to GrandAm, then we'll have to choose a side ;) . What... really? Hey James or Seth. Are you guys goig to run a Grand Am squad too? Suneal 02-12-2005, 10:28 AM I'll DEFINITELY be there! Hope to see some of you guys (and I'll definitely stop by the BW paddock). Shady3One3 02-12-2005, 03:57 PM Larbre is bringing 550's. Don't forget the MC12's! dhabes 02-12-2005, 05:02 PM Im not sure what to think about the MC12s. First I saw the roadcar at NAIAS and dont find it attractive at all. Second, the ACO has issued a warning to ALMS basically saying they dont know what they are getting themselves into cus the car isn't equal to the other cars in the class...vttes, DBR9 etc...should be interesting Justin95GSR 02-12-2005, 05:06 PM Larbre is bringing 550's. Don't forget the MC12's! Damn, that sucks. Are those the ones that have white all over them. I think the Prodrive 550s look alot better than those. racercosmo 02-13-2005, 12:30 AM I'll be there. I work for the enemy, but I know which car to drive when I'm on my own. jamesclay 02-14-2005, 04:55 AM What... really? Hey James or Seth. Are you guys goig to run a Grand Am squad too? Hard to say - US road racing is not 100% stable. I like where we are now, but when it is E90 time in the next year or two, we will reevaluate... Shady3One3 02-15-2005, 01:24 AM Damn, that sucks. Are those the ones that have white all over them. I think the Prodrive 550s look alot better than those. Larbre: http://www.crash.net/pictures/view/87240.jpg They essentially are Prodrive ferraris...they're prepped by Care Racing. (www.care-racing.com) Justin95GSR 02-15-2005, 09:37 AM Ah, ok, when someone said Labre, I was thinking of the 550s that are in FIA GT. Those look a lot different than the CARE racing cars. Justin95GSR 02-15-2005, 09:40 AM I'll be there. I work for the enemy,. And who is that? .....just wondering madsedan 02-15-2005, 10:45 AM I'll be there, working in the Bimmerworld paddock. dhabes 02-15-2005, 12:14 PM I'll be there. I work for the enemy, but I know which car to drive when I'm on my own. who is the enemy? racercosmo 02-16-2005, 01:05 AM And who is that? .....just wondering Stasis Engineering Audi. Paul isn't that bad, he used to race an M3 in SCCA T-2. dhabes 02-16-2005, 01:40 AM Stasis Engineering Audi. Paul isn't that bad, he used to race an M3 in SCCA T-2. Ah thats cool. I met Prall and them a few yrs back at limerock 2BZ3 02-18-2005, 12:54 PM I'm always there, You can't beat the sweet smell of warm brakes and orange groves! 21 years and counting... :redspot Frank dugmar 02-19-2005, 08:20 AM We will be focusing most of our attention to Grand Am this year. We've done the touring car series for years now. We came, did our thing, won some championships, now on to GAC for some endurance stuff... Vio 02-19-2005, 11:57 AM I will definitely be there, i didnt know that Aston Martin was coming this year. Are you guys going to the Friday races too? That is when the touring cars like the M3's and CTS-V's race. Good times, good times. Here's some pics me and my buddy took last year if you guys are interested. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312225 ///MEric 03-02-2005, 12:46 PM Im going. I belive my tickets are pit passes with audi. If you guys get a meet together i will try to show up. I cant wait for all the GT action this year. Its gonna make for some great photographs BlueMaxx9 03-10-2005, 02:30 PM To all you folks who will be at Sebring Firday as well for the TC and GT races: Does anyone have some extra space where I could crash Friday night? I was originally just going to drive up for the 12 hrs, but now I'm strongly considering going to the Friday races as well. Problem is, I don't have a hotel room, and don't really want to get one just for myself. If anyone is going to have overnight accomodations available, I would be glad to give you a couple bucks or bring some beer in exchange for a place to crash for the night. I've tried sleeping in the back of my 325, but the damn thing is too narrow! Anyway, I may yet wuss out and only come up for the 12 hrs, but if anyone might be able to help me out, please let me know. Thanks, -Bret Justin95GSR 03-10-2005, 06:16 PM Well I'm staying in a spot with some guys off of sebringfans.com. I don't know them, I just met this one dude on the board and he said they would make some room for me to throw up a tent. Let me wait and talk to them and I'll get back with you. Justin95GSR 03-10-2005, 06:19 PM Also, I just remembered, if it doesn't work out for you to stay near us then you know you can always upgrade your ticket at the gate to the 4 day superticket so you can be there for Friday and Sat. and just bring your own tent and what not and grab a spot BlueMaxx9 03-11-2005, 01:03 AM Really? I already have a 4-day ticket (got it just in case), but I didn't know that entitled me to go loiter on the property all night. Only problem is that my tent is in a different state so it will be a little tough to get :-) Thanks for the info, -Bret 99DakarM3 03-11-2005, 09:23 AM Really? Only problem is that my tent is in a different state so it will be a little tough to get :-) Thanks for the info, -Bret With the 4-day ticket you get to go in Wed. morning and stay till Sunday afternoon if you want. Buy a cheap tent and air mattress and there will be plenty of space to crash for the evenings. I'll be there with some friends in the North Paddock area with a camper, so anyone is welcome to pitch a tent and hang out. dhabes 03-11-2005, 09:51 AM www.lmsr.net , a sportscar news site, snapped a few pics of the TVRs settin up shop yesterday. From what I understand, Flying Lizard and Aston are there but maybe not setup. Maserati is coming tomorrow. Anyways here are the pics. http://www.lmsr.net/ast-06.jpg http://www.lmsr.net/ast-11.jpg http://www.lmsr.net/ast-10.jpg Vio 03-11-2005, 05:01 PM Is that a different TVR team than was there last year? I remember them being all purple. Any morgan's gonna be there this year? That car is fun to watch. I'll be there Friday and Saturday witha buddy of mine. We got our hotel room a month ago and that was like the last room available all the way to Haines City (which is near where i live). The hotel on the hairpin turn has to be booked 7 years in advance, for 7 days straight, at $500 a night. Me and my buddy left our names on the waiting list :rolleyes |
