i just bought an e30 couple of days ago. It is a 1986 325e with a couple of mods. Right now, the car has many scratches and the color is fading (black). I was thinking of getting the whole car painted after getting new bumpers and side skirts. Is there any shops that you guys can recommend in painting the car? I can take off the panels and send it to the shop.

I was thinking of just taking it to maaco just because this car isnt worth that much money in the first place. I had a friend who had his celica painted and it did not turn out that bad.

Use the money you would have partitioned for the paint job and get a nice suspension set up. IMO I dont car what my car looks like as long as I have a smile on my face when im behind the wheel. Ever see my E21? Hah, that was a beast.

I told him the same thing. No point of painting it when it will cost 1/3 of the car.

If you really want to get it painted, I know a place in Baltimore that won't break your bank. Its called D&J's, just a few blocks from Hopkins campus. I've been there twice before for welding, and some suspension work. They do some good work, and they're clean and honest. It won't be a spectacular job like at Carstar, but it won't be nearly as expensive either. Hit me up on PM if you're interested.

Definitely put the money into suspension and get someone to compound (cut) the car.
Black paint hold up. I have a silver one which is a different paint. It needs to be sanded 1st.
