I'm not sure if they'll find an adequate replacement anytime soon. So I'm looking for a back up joint Alan 02-07-2005, 02:39 AM They really have a good rep. I don't think that one person makes a team. I'm sure they are still a good place to go. But I use Tilson's on 63rd and City. They rock. sardil 02-07-2005, 04:13 AM If you're near Philly, there's no better tuner than Stickley. He's in Newton IIRC. www.cssmotorsports.com FastrTHNu 02-07-2005, 02:43 PM lesser-known Cyntex This guy does great work. Did a few of our porsche engines and has built MANY BMW racecars. I think he might still have the turbo LTW down there. He knows his bimmers. i might have him help out with the tuning on my turbo project. sunir 02-07-2005, 04:19 PM lesser-known Cyntex This guy does great work. Cyntex = :buttrock ...Tony, Chuck, and most other engine builders use them for custom tuning... 95m3sc 02-07-2005, 04:52 PM Yes Tony toook my car to sytex for a new chip I'm referring to more or less the maintenence of a highly tunned car. Im worried that they won't have the time for it now that Armand is at Otto's, Don't get me wrong I'm sure he'll be back in a few months anyway Abrahams/101CM 02-07-2005, 05:12 PM Simply the best. On time. On budget. No BS. 95m3sc 02-07-2005, 05:15 PM thats' the name and number I was looking for . do they have a web site sunir 02-07-2005, 05:29 PM Simply the best. On time. On budget. No BS. I have to agree with Andrew...I've dealt with Mike Yaskin and he seems to really know these cars well and is a friendly person to deal with...I know Andrew has been in this game for a while and had the experience of dealing with multiple places so he's a good person to provide info... sunir 02-07-2005, 05:31 PM thats' the name and number I was looking for . do they have a web site www.bavarianspecialties.com ask for Mike Yaskin, tell him Andrew and Sunir recommended ya...he's cool with a bunch of racers so it's nice for him to know racers are puttin' in a good word for him :) slickwill21 02-07-2005, 11:02 PM Yes Tony toook my car to sytex for a new chip I'm referring to more or less the maintenence of a highly tunned car. I saw you at VACs last time I was they’re getting my UUC ssk installed. You had your wife’s car, the sweeet 540 with the black rims. Really nice ride. Do you remember me? I have the M3 sedan Alpine/black sport seats. Well just wanted to say hi and see if you remembered me. Maybe we can get a meet going around the Philly area soon. 95m3sc 02-07-2005, 11:17 PM oince the weather breaks I'm in for a all philly area meet. Stuttgart951 02-08-2005, 01:24 AM But I use Tilson's on 63rd and City. They rock. Second vote for Mike Tilson. Been taking cars to him for... 5-6 years now. Great shop. sunir 02-08-2005, 01:47 AM oince the weather breaks I'm in for a all philly area meet. you guys should get Tony and the VAC boys to do a BMW workshop day for enthusiasts and I bet a bunch of folks would come for that...then afterwards we could all go for some Pat's steaks...mmmm :) Abrahams/101CM 02-08-2005, 10:08 AM I have to agree with Andrew...I've dealt with Mike Yaskin and he seems to really know these cars well and is a friendly person to deal with...I know Andrew has been in this game for a while and had the experience of dealing with multiple places so he's a good person to provide info... I'm not sure if they'll find an adequate replacement anytime soon. So I'm looking for a back up joint You know it's really weird. I've heard from many people that VAC does really great work and I've taken my car to them a few times, mostly for HPDE Pre-event Tech inspections. But on two separate occassions I asked them to do a little bit more than just a tech inspection. 1. Asked to have SS brake lines installed. Result: Pinched the hose so the caliper was not fully disengaging. Ruined the brake line and warped the rotor 2. Asked to replace rear brake pads. Result: Did not reinstall the brake pad sensor properly, which ended up having to be replaced (dash light came on). Cost me $76 at the dealer. Granted I should be able to do these things on my own, but I don't really have the time right now, nor do I have a garage of my own to work in. I mean I paid for it, so why should I not receive proper service? Because of these two separate instances, I am no longer going to take my car to them. Plus their shop is really ghetto. I don't feel comfortable leaving my car there overnight (sometimes I can't get there to pick it up before closing). Sorry for the rant, just thought I would share a different opinion. P.S. 95m3sc, I see both your 540t and your 95m3 often. I live in the condo building right next to the large parking lot you park in (River's Edge on 23rd and Cherry). Both look very sharp! I can always pick them out right away. sunir 02-09-2005, 12:45 AM You know it's really weird. Pani 02-09-2005, 09:28 AM yep, that was me. Haven't been out to a school in a while though. School got a bit busy, since I started my clerkships in the hospital. I'm taking grad school classes now and will be doing my thesis soon, so I should have more time to devote to more important things ;) BTW how's your car running? Congrats on making it big in BMW CCA racing. I always look for your name in the results in Roundel. Pani 02-09-2005, 10:16 PM Hey 95m3sc, Saw your car again tonight. Looks really nice. Eventually I'd like to get an E39 540 6-sp to complement my coupe. What year is yours? Does it have the sport package that was modified for the last year of production? 95m3sc 02-09-2005, 11:29 PM where did you see my car at yes it has a sport pk which includes suspension rims m5 body kit and m5 sterring wheel and sport seats sunir 02-09-2005, 11:37 PM where did you see my car at yes it has a sport pk which includes suspension rims m5 body kit and m5 sterring wheel and sport seats uh oh Pani is scopin' ya out bro  ...gettin' ready to pull a gank move on yo shyte foo :D :stickoutt ....hahaha just jokin' lol :D :stickoutt ...Pani is a good dude 95m3sc 01-15-2006, 12:08 PM I work out there at the Mixed Martial Arts School at 23rd and Cherry st TonkpilsNeon 01-17-2006, 05:57 PM What about Milla Racing? Because everyone and their grandmother has a license plate frame from them at the local meets......I guess they do really good license plate installation. AndrewBall 01-17-2006, 07:19 PM arman for VAC Motorsports went back. VAC Motorsports built my uncles racecar engine and does alot of nice CNC work. we got the suspension for my racecar from them and they built my street car motor, and we got the suspension from them. Arman Painted it. Tony knows what he is doing his 300+ hp normally aspirated S14 is rather interesting and his 400+ hp Normally aspirated s52 is awesome as well. Cyntex used to do all Tony's dyno tuning but Cyntex has been busy lately and his dyno reads very low. VAC Motorsports recently acquired a dyno with tuning capabilty and such, He will be tuning my racecar. |
