I am looking for a way to get my injectors tested and cleaned since I have them out of my car anyways and I came across this website http://www.cruzinperformance.com/fuelinj.html
Has anybody done anything like this and are there shops around that do this stuff so I don't have to ship them anywhere?

Also, if you haven't already please help me with my car troubles here:

Had a ton of cars over the years and never yet had to send out the injectors for cleaning. Not to say that they can`t get gummed up but do the injector test I outlined in the other post.
Lay the whole fuel injector rail up on top of the engine with it all hooked up to the fuel lines and electrical wiring.
Then have your helper crank the engine, you will see fine misty cone shaped sprays coming in spurts from each injector. If not then it might be plugged up or more likely you are not getting an electrical pulse from the ECU.
Try this first before sending your injectors out for cleaning

Here's my method of cleaning injectors.

1. get some hose that fits tight over the spraying end of the injector.
2. buy some very toxic carb cleaner
3. rig up an old injector connector with some wire to a switch and a 12v battery
4. put about 1 ft. of tube around the spraying end of injector and fill with carb cleaner.
5. with a compressed air gun stick it in the end of the tube and apply compressed air into the tube while another person rapidly induces power to the injector (turns it on and off a lot of times really fast) and fuel will come out the opposite end

This flushes out the injector backwards. It works really good. Then replace the o-rings and reinstall.

Hey thanks for the tip Hammdy. I called up a place to see if they did the out of the car injector cleaning and they just recommended your method. I got all of the stuff to try it but I haven't done it yet. I just hooked up a 9volt battery because I am not sure if you meant to use a 12volt car battery or if there is some other type of battery and I don't want to blow my injectors up. I tried using the 9volt tonight and it sounded like the injectors were clicking. Also, how do you take the injectors off of the electrical wiring harness that runs along the fuel rail? I don't want to break these things.

first off, don't apply continuous voltage to the injectors, it will f- them up. To get them off the fuel rail there's a little metal clip at the top. Use a small pick to partially or totally remove the clip then just pull them out. It's simple. Lube the new o-rings when you reinstall.

I pulled the clips off of the fuel injector where it connects to the fuel rail but I was talking about where it connects to the wiring thing. Where the fuel injectors get their voltage from. How do you take them off of that?

FWIW, I've used Cruzin Performance to clean the injectors on my 318is - I was very happy with the service. Reasonable price, quick turnaround. He replaced the o-rings, the pintles, the screen, and provided before and after flow data.

I'd recommend it if you can do without the injectors for a few days, primarily shipping time. As I recall, Rich had the injectors on their way back to me after one day.

Yeah there's some really thin clips holding them on. They are kind of U shaped, but at the open ends they close in. you just have to take a pick and pull the clips out.
