View Full Version : Once again, EDGE Motorworks rocks!
wifeyse46 02-04-2005, 01:23 PM I know it's been said dozens of times, but Edge kicks @ss! I got sick of the high prices and questionable practices at shops in Sac (with few exceptions) so I drove down to Dublin yesterday to finally meet the guys at Edge. Gordon and the gang are the coolest bunch of guys.
Jim worked on my car ALL day (11:30-ish to about 8 pm). They looked at everything and did everything perfectly. Most importantly, Jim saved me from a potential disaster. He found THREE bolts floating in my rear diff! No, I did not have strange sounds from my diff nor did my speedo needle do funny things. Anyway, they did a bunch of stuff on my car (Insp. II plus some other misc. stuff) and Gordon checked the car thoroughly. The car runs great, handles great, and feels like new. And my wallet was very happy with the price.
In short, I'm taking my wife's car there next time. Worth the hour trip and the long stay.

So what did you get a full tune-up? And how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
wifeyse46 02-04-2005, 08:04 PM So what did you get a full tune-up? And how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking?
Full Insp. II (except for oil change), but I brought my own tranny and diff fluids. In addition: brake fluid flush (I brought the fluid), replaced valve cover gasket and plugs (again, brought the gasket and plugs), installed x-brace (which I brought). I think that's it. I was going to have my rear sway bar reinforcement tabs welded on, but we ran out of time cause of my diff issues. It wasn't a typical Insp. II because of the added labor/parts from the diff repair, so my quote wouldn't do you much good, but I'll say this: It was still much less than the typical Insp. II costs at any other shops I've talked to, who all wanted to charge ~500 for a typical Insp. II. Just give Gordon a call and he'll give you a good quote.
Oh yeah, I know that diff repair was a pain for Jim, but Gordon still charged me a very fair price for the extra labor. And I watched and chatted with Jim most of the day. Hope that didn't bother him too much. ;)
Did I mention the hooters? :D
