I was thinking about putting two speakers next to each other on the fornt doors. My plans were orignally either going with two RE components or two Aura MR62 components side-by-side. And then I thought about getting one of each. Is there anything wrong with this option? Would it sound any different?

i'd stick with the same component sets. u could get a component set and then an extra mid per door, but usually u dont mix comp sets on same door.

BTW, I'm pretty much doing what you're doing. How do you cut the tray in the doors? Just jigsaw it?

i used rotozip with the fiberglass cutting wheel. if i remember correctly the tray is only held on where the opening is so if u cut below that itll come out (havent workd on install for while). i got my edi comp set (highs and midrange) and then the extra cdt's will be only dedicated midbass's.

They say in home audio applications that the front three speakers should be voice matched. I would think similar ideas apply in car audio. I would for sure stick with the same brand at least.
