I have a stock 92 525im, and I'm upgrading the suspension. I already slide around in the seat a lot, and I was wondering what my options are. Is there a cloth cover for the seats that wouldn't look too horrible? The leather is extremely smooth and slick.

The material that I sit my butt on needs to change. I'm looking for options. What about replacing the seat?

bah, probably too expensive. I don't think a racing seat would look right in e34 either

Wow are those any good? Am I understanding correctly that I'll still have power seats?

If your seats are really slick, then it is probably because they are dry. It might be time to give em a moisturizing treatment. Try the following process, it performs wonders.

Start by thoroughly vaccuming and cleaning the seats with Lexol Cleaner, a sponge and cloths, then rinsing(damped towel) and drying with another towel. Then let em dry a little longer, couple hours depending on temp. Follow this up with a treatment of Lexol Conditioner or Leatherique(4Xthe$$). Put it on thick, with your hands. This sounds messy, and it is, just try and keep this stuff away from carpet and fabric. You will use about a 1/2 quart if you do the front and back, maybe more. Then let your car sit like this overnight in the garage, hopefully its heated as this speeds up the process. Now you can get a clean towel, slightly damped with warm water and clean up one seat at a time. You probably want to only do one or two seats with this towel, depending on the dirt you pull up. As soon as you have a seat clean, then follow that up with a dry towel and kind of dry excess moisture away with very light buffing/rubbing.

Once done, your seats leather surface will be much softer and tackier, not dry and slippery anymore. If your seats are still dry or just for good measure, simply repeat the Lexol Conditioner application. It probably wont take as much on the second treatment. I just did the entire interior of the Touring over the weekend and the difference was amazing!

In case anyone wants to save a few bucks, dont buy Lexol Cleaner or Conditioner at the autoparts store. They only sell small spray bottles and they charge $8per. One cleaner and three conditioner bottles, about $35 and you have none leftover. Find a Petsmart with an equestrian section in your town. They sell 10 packs of little sponges for $2 and Lexol by the Quart! for $11.00! By your self a couple of spray bottles, a pack of terry towels and a case of beer (this is a time consuming process) for about $35 and you will have leftover Lexol for later.

Good luck,

Greg.

I'm still interested in these seats. I would get the four point harness for them should I get them. Any thoughts?

well they will work with your power seats... plus they will certainly keep you planted down there... and if you do get the 4pt harness you can drive however you want and you wont slide out :)

if my seats ever get really worn out while i have the car i am getting them
