I was sitting on the freeway in the carpool lane (diamond lane for you east coast folks), hadn't moved in two minutes. I look in my rear view and approaching quick is a beatup Ford Ranger and he's not going to stop. The car that was originally behind me had moved up onto the side of me to avoid the hit, so I had no where to go. He hit me doing 30 ...
Long story short, he took out the entire rear end. Instead of the standard bumper, I had them put a M-Technic bumper on it and now I am looking for exhaust. I need to pick up something quick and I would like minimal modification. Before I spend a grand on a Dinan Free Flow, does anyone have any success stories? I don't want a lot of noise, just a subtle growl.
Please advise.

Thanks Rob. I like the Duals. My original intent was to go for the M5 exhaust. However all of the damage is above the trunk floor so that part wasn't damaged. I don't mind the single exhaust, but I just want something nice.
Mish,
Not rich yet. He was insured. I haven't had my baby in 7 weeks, but supposedly I get it back next week. We will see. No pictures, I couldn't bear to look at her in that condition. When I get it back, I will post pics of old vs. new.
I had the same situation happen to me. My solution was to have a muffler shop weld a stainless steel tip on. It looks great! Basically, the shop cut off the tip of my current exhaust as it turned down so the exit pipe hole was flat and air came straight out. The muffler sits a little left and up to the section in the //M-Tech bumper for the exhaust.
Next, they cut a small piece of pipe in the shape of a "C" and welded it to my muffler in order to align the exit pipe hole in the middle of the //M-Tech muffler section.
Finally, they welded the stainless steel tip to the new section of pipe and that was that. It cost less than $100 and took less than an hour to install. I highly recommend it. Also, if you look on the BMW Tips site (www.bmwtips.com) under //M-Tech bumper install, the guy who wrote it up did th esame thing. He had a Supersprint Muffler on and when he installed the //Mt-tech one, he put his OEM exhaust back on with a tip and it looks great.

Robert,
That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a bunch. I will get right on it.
