I'm thinking of getting these wheels:

http://www.tirerack.com/servlet/CallJsp?target=wheelSearchCloseUp&initialPartNumber=MM90131SAT&sizeIndex=1&wheelIndex=35&autoMake=BMW&autoModel=525i&autoYear=1992&autoModClar=&showRear=null

I'm looking for tires in those size now, but I don't want to spend more than 400 bucks on tires. recommendations? What do you think about the wheels?

BTW, my car is a 1992 525im

Ideally, I think i'd like throwing-stars from the M5. How much can I expect to pay for some in good condition?

I could sell you my BBS 15s with michelin tires for around $300. I've noticed that you're looking at 17s, but i thought that I would give it a shot.

More than you're paying for the MM wheels and the tires from TR for just the wheels. They're very nice, and the asking price usually reflects that.

TR looks like they have about 9 or 10 choices in your price range. Of those, I would stay away from the Kumho 711/712, I can't speak to the Sumitomos, the BFG's look interesting, and I would strongly consider either the Dunlop or the Fuzion (Bridgestone).
