what's up guys....i have an '02 330Ci coupe that needs two new rear tires...i did my research and read that the Toyo Proxes T1-S ($229.00) is the newest and greatest ultra-high performance tire on the market. Wondering if anyone has them or can give me any suggestions. The rears are 17" X 8.5". Thanks guys and ride well

I have T1-s on my 323Ci right now. Price/performance wise, it's hard to beat. It offers you 99% of other high end tires (Michelin Pilot Sports II, Bridgestone S-03s) performance while costing about 75-80% its counterparts.

Pluses: Excellent wear, excellent price, very very good grip, softer sidewall absorb more impact than Bridgestone S-03s, good size rim protector, LIGHTEST of the summer ultra high performance tires.

Cons: Very noisy, softer sidewalls means not nearly as sharp turn-in as say, the S-03s, replacement is due for release soon.

There is a newer version of Toyo's ultra high performance tire that promises to offer everything T1-S offers AND MORE. Unfortunately your replacement needs are immediate, otherwise I'd wait for the new Toyos.

The Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is a better tire for less money.

I had the T1-S's on my M3 last year and auto-x'ed them. Good tire but the sidewall is a bit soft. I thought they were great performance tire for the street. If I didn't auto-x this year I would get them again...but looks like MX's for me.

BTW...I think Discount Tire has them for $170 per for 245/40/17 - m & b. $229 seems kinda high.

I think the T1-R's are going to be out soon, might want to wait for those.

I didn't get much sidewall flex with my T1-S. Then again, I run 245/35/18s so there isn't much sidewall to flex :)

Besides that, I agree with what the hack said.

I didn't think I would but I love these tires as well. I have about 4 DEs and 5000 miles on them and they are going strong. I run 235/35/19 and 275/30/10 so I have even less sidewall flex than Zoso :D

I've never used a better tire than the Proxes T-1S.

I love the T1s.....they grip in dry and the wet. If anyone is looking for some .....I think edgeracing.com has 225/40/18's for $149 a piecel. Pretty good price!

I bought my T1-S' at tiresavings.com. They had the best prices I found at the time. My opinion is pretty much consensus: awesome tire at an awesome price. I am running 245/35/17 so I don't worry too much about sidewall flex either, and they do ride more smoothly than what I used to have. Best of both worlds.

I am currently running these on my car and love them.

They have excellent grip in both wet and dry (well, not like it rains much in NM), good wear characteristics, and are priced well.

Edge racing sells them, and i think they're the cheapest retailer of toyo's or any other tire online that i could find. They got the T1s's for under 150 for a 235/45/17? around that size, which is a pretty popular size.
