View Full Version : After I replaced my water pump.. I need a help!
TheBlueB 02-01-2005, 01:02 PM My water pump got busted while I was driving on Highway and I pulled my car to the side then called a tow truck. My mechanic replaced my water pump and small necessary items that I needed to replaced. :rolleyes
Now my engine makes a lot of noise and my car is not powerful as before. I hear a lot of noise when I turn on my car, like a thunder for 10 seconds. Also the pick up speed is very slow. When I stopped at a stop sign and taking off, my engine is hesitating and very slow.
Anybody knows what’s wrong with my car? I have a 94 325is. :help
JFV1134 02-01-2005, 08:32 PM Take that sh*t back to the Mechanic and say "Fix this SH*T dawg!" Nah, Im just kidding, but I would take it back to the mechanic and ask whats up. This happened to my Bronco. When I had it in for some body people to take care of some rust, I swear that they took off the carb and put her back on, cause the gasket from the carb to the intake was leaking. It had never leaked before.
Take it back to the mechanic!

Did it overheat? How long between the time the pump busted til the time you shut off the engine? Have you run a compression test?
Mrmontecristo 02-02-2005, 12:56 AM If you overheated the car, you may have a blown head gasket or worse. Check the engine oil at the dipstick, look at your coolant and level, and check for white smoke from your tailpipe AFTER the car is warmed up. If you have oil in the coolant, or chocolate frappacino for oil, that spells a problem.
On a better note, my wife(fiance at the time, I STILL married her after this one) was driving my '94 325is one week before we got married when it blew a cooling water hose. She drove it till is litteraly died and would not start! After replacing the hose, and doing a pressure test, everything checked out fine and the car runs great - at 181K miles!
So, you never know. But check your stuff first before you take it back to the mechanic. Do your homework, before he goes draining your checking account looking for the cause.....
Good luck and I'll cross my fingers for you. If you need any help, PM me. As fellow '94 owners, we are kindered spirits..... :cool
MrMonte.
2nd one today that over heated their engine.
People, when you start to overheat, turn off the road and shut down.
sheesh.

Hey Mr.Monte,
Thanks! I have noticed that my car is going trash. I can’t stand it!
I will do my homework tomorrow and let you know how's going. My mechanic changed three hoses, two belts, and water pump. What's the worse case other than blown head gasket? Thanks buddy!
Bobertsr 02-04-2005, 03:48 PM I'm not trying to be a smartass but the first clue would be that little gauge on your instrument panel that has the temperature symbol. If the needle starts heading over toward the right (the HOT side), it means that the engine coolant temperature is getting hotter than normal. That's the time to stop and investigate what's going on, NOT when there's lots of steam coming out from under the hood and the engine quits!! My .02 worth.
