I can't wait to get these things coated and installed!

View Full Version : Just picked up some Euro Headers for the M6 jcsomerset 01-31-2005, 06:10 PM I can't wait to get these things coated and installed! The Beastmaster 01-31-2005, 07:10 PM The header on the left looks like it takes a convoluted pattern for the exhaust gasses. Here is a pic of what my headers look like. I can't remember if they were set to me by the seller or someone else, but these are Hartge headers. The Beastmaster 01-31-2005, 07:12 PM This is a pic of the Stahl E12 based headers for my old Euro 6er. jcsomerset 01-31-2005, 08:28 PM These are the OEM European Headers for the M635CSi - THey were OEM on the Euro M6's. The american Models got manifolds that choked the exhaust. This'll give me some nice HP boost and Further modding potential (i.e. making the most of my future mods) Your headers are very nice but they wouldn't fit an M6. Headers for M6's (euro's or not) are tough to find. THese are the prettiest IMO. 88m53453 01-31-2005, 08:59 PM get em jet coated, it's beautiful bumbavfan 02-01-2005, 09:39 AM JC, Yes they are beautiful! But uhhm, so beautiful that you sleep with them??? :) I notice there's a pilow in the pic. Are you planning on doing a baseline HP run to see what the HP boost will turn out to be? I would guess maybe 15-20 increase. Nice upgrade indeed. jcsomerset 02-01-2005, 10:18 AM HAHA! That's the futon in the spare/computer room. THere's a miscellaneaus pillow in there that doesn't really get used unless we have sleep over company. Yes - I'm definately going to do a baseline for a before and after. Also - Since I'm chipped - I want to basically show al those nay-sayers (No chip made will add more then 5-10 HP to a car's Perf) that this particular version of the S38 was the most de-tuned version that BMW ever produced - I'm quite certain I'm in the 280 (crank) range (perhaps Higher) without the headers - I'm excited to see what i'll be once I get them installed. Slash 04-02-2005, 04:07 PM so where exactly did you get these headers...and where could i find some? They had to be a little creative. JC-when are you dynoing? jcsomerset 04-04-2005, 10:26 PM I think this is due to the decreased room in there from the twin cam motor. They had to be a little creative. JC-when are you dynoing? Yup - Not much room left over after they added the extra valves; cam and exterior coolant piping. Dynoing - I've got the thin walled 17.5 mm socket on the way now to change the plugs and make adjusting the valves MUCH easier -then a good engine and injector flush/airbox/AFM cleaning. It'll probably be close to the end of may before I make it to the dyno - I'm trying to plan a wedding too - (my own) so after that i'll try to get the headers fabbed up - THat's my main issue - getting the headers fitted so I can send them off to be Jet-Hot coated - it makes no sense to me to get them Jet-Hot coated - then cut and weld on them - I've just defeated my purpose of the coating. (in my mind anyway) so hopefully I can get them installed before the wedding. I've got to find someone who'll let me borrow garage space for a week or so after I get them fitted while they are out getting coated. then back to the dyno - Life gets in the way of me being a total car junkie- |
