For some reason I have written down here that the stock Alpina tire and size is...
Front 9x20 with MICHELIN Pilot SX in 245/40 ZR20
Rear 10x20 with MICHELIN Pilot SX in 275/30 ZR20
But then I searched and found a post where Silver50 stated his rears are 275/35. So now I'm confused. Should I be running a 30 series rear or 35 series rear?

You're right-should be 35's on the back-some people seem to go with 35's and 30's an 20's but I reckon its a slight margin better to avoid wheel damage with the 40's and 35's which are as I said Alpinas' OE size-Are your wheels going on soon?

I have the wheels, but I sent back the rear tires as I thought they were the wrong size. Seems I should have kept the 35 series! Damn! Foiled again!

Ok, I talked to the shop and I guess the rears never came in anyways. So I didn't cause any further trouble. I have everything but the rear tires now, which are on their way tomorrow.
He did however take me to the back and show me my rims. They look gooood. I don't know if they were worth waiting three months to get, but none the less I'll be happy to have them on. :)

They are a bit cheaper, and come in tons of sizes. But the treadwear is absolutely terrible according to tire-rack. My car weighs 5000lbs. It's a land barge more than a performance machine. So it's going to be quite abusive to a high-performance tire. Therefore I need a longer treadlife so I don't have to shell out $350 a tire every 8 months.

I was actually running a set of part-worn P Zero's(255/35'5-on the rear) before I bought the second set of Michelins and to my surprise they showed little sign of wearing out at all,I had to take them off because the sidewalls were splitting, but I got 8000 miles out of them-and they only cost me £50 each!
