When does the E90 M3 come out and I wonder how bad that will bring down the E46 M3 prices? I'm waiting to pull teh trigger on a used one.

You were probably right the first time. In 06 they release the sedan, in 07 the Coupe and a half year to a year the M3. It will be released probably as the E46 was in Mar or Apr of 07 either as a 07 MY or early 08. The M3 is usually released a year after the Coupes intro. Dave

I would think the interm year (or two) without the new M would keep the prices up, rather than bring them down. Of course, as soon as the new M is released, prices on the older models would decline; as is the case with all new model releases.

I'm betting they will continue to produce the E46 M3 into MY06. They will market a E90 3series at the same time. Then there will be a year hiatus for retooling of assembling plants and processes and then they new car will come out.

They continued to build the E36 M3 in 1999 while they were producing the E46 3series.

If it's anything like in the past the E90 sedan will debute as a 2006 model while the 2006 e46 coupe will be available until the E90 coupe debute for 2007. The E90 M3/M4 should be introduced in 2008.

the price of e90 m3 would be a lot higher than the e46 m3, so i think the price will not drop as much as most people would think :)

Look at the cost of the E60 M5, we are talking almost a 15% increase in price. I would suspect at least a 10% increase in base price and probably more. Remember, the cost of raw materials has gone up all around the world. Plus, with the value of the dollar against the euro -- I would suspect that companies will take that into account down the road.

Theres no chance of an AWD M3 in the near future. And I hope there never will be. Leave that segment to Audi. I'm keeping my RWD.

thits is just a guess but if the last gen m3 was starting at 42k and the next mod was 47k this m3 should base at 52-53k maybe

If the M3 follows the same pricing as the M5, it could be very good for us E46 M3 owners. A new m3 would be $70k with some options, or a used E46 for $40k that's a 4 years old, which would you take? Would the average performance junky really be up to nearly double the price for a car can't probably won't twice as well?

theres no way the new m3 will be 70k you have to understand that the m5 is a four door luxury sedan.

if bmw wants to comp. with audi s4 and c55 amg cars the new m3 will be around 50k

If the rumors of the 330it turbo come true, then I see the E90 M3 moving up market. Currently with Nav, ZCP and a few other options you can get the E46 past 60K. I see the E90 M3 easliy getting to 70K. :(

umm if you're referring to 270hp your mistaken. the v8 S4s all have 340+ Hp. I think the next generation S4 is looking to push HP in the high 300s.

No chance the e90 M3 will go up in price like the M5 did... Remember, the M5 is extremely limited production. The M3 is oversold (just under 330Ci volume) and will need to be in the realm of the Audi S4 to maintain share. I think a base MSRP of $50K is where it will land...

He whined about the SMG like you can't get the car without it. He doesn't know how to take advantage of it either. When you see a guy that biased getting into a car for a head to head comparison, I think you know how its going to turn out.

Umm are you referring to Tiff Needle? If so he is a big BMW fan with heavy BMW bias.

my friend works at the dealer and he said bmw told him that 2008 they would release the new m3 with the v8 he has always been right so i trust him. but who knows..
