Hey guys I just drove my 325i off the dealership. I just a noob question....I read the manual and it said don't pass 4.5 rpm and I didn't. My friends told me that I shouldn't drive past 60 but i did and i hit 70 for a few good seconds but it was only at 2.5 rpm. I drove at 60 for the most part though. Should I be worried about this?....sorry this is my first new car that I own now so i'm kinda paranoid. Thanks..

edit// oops wrong forum by accident can somebody move this to the 3 series forum?

You'll be ok if you hit 70 once. You just want to put at least 500 miles on it because you start pushing it. Baby it and dont past 4500 RPM.

congrats on the new car and welcome to the boards. Don't worry you didn't do anything to hurt the car just take it easy for the first thousand or so miles.

Congrats on the car man. I think the book actually says 4500 rpm's or 100 mph. You should vary the engine rpm and mph for the full 1200 mile break in. I would also say that you should slowly take it higher up in the rpms. first 500 no more than 4500, 750 miles 5000, 1000 miles 5500 and 1500 you can redline it.
