Does anyone experience a noticeable lag between 1st and 2nd gear when the SMG transmission is in Drive. Does a later version of the software reduce this lag. Really annoying

it probably has to wait for the revs to drop

I've read that this is a typical problem in earlier versions of SMG. Seems the only fix is a software upgrade. Considering your car is fairly new, i would be suprised that it doesn't already have the latest software. That being said, it wouldn't hurt to ask your service advisor if there is a software update available.
