Hi guys,
I'm asking because my dad is thinking about buying an M3 so I figured I'd gather up all the $$ information I could for him. I'm pushing hard for it and ask if he wants to go for a test drive multiple times a day.
Anyways, my questions are:
1) How much is a pretty much fully loaded M3 brand new? SMG, 19", nav, sunroof, bi-xenon lights, leather. Not sure about the other options or if colors of the interior/exterior affect price.
2) Are '04s still available or all '05s by now?
3) Is it worth it to buy a new M3 now with the production run being so close to the end and the E90 just around the corner? Should he wait? I love the E46 and I know he would be sold as soon as he sat in one.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

It depend on where you buy it from, out the door, you are looking at probably around $56K for everything. Colors add to the price, depending on which one.
Most dealerships do not have 04's; although, there may be a few.
Well, you could tell your dad to wait for the E90 ... it's about two years away before U.S. release. So, I do not consider that "right" around the corner. There's even rumors that there will be a 2006 E46 M3, which brings the e90 m3 to 2008 delivery. No matter what, the e90 m3 will cost much more than the e46 one -- so, I think the e46 will remain stable in price.

Go to bmwusa.com and use the "build your own" feature. It will give you an exact MSRP price for the options you select. MSRP starts at $47K+, but w/ options they can be more than $60K.
Since BMW has extended the engine warranty to 100K I think the best deal is to find a nice cert. pre-owned car. For a couple year old M3 w/ lots of options you'll pay in the 40's and still have warranty and free service left on the car. You'll also get the extended cert. pre-owned warranty and the 100K engine warranty. You can locate pre-owned M3's near you on BMW's website as well. That's how I got mine. It looks like new and has not had any issues yet.

The 100k mile warranty is only for the production window that had bearing issues. I don't know what time range, but they do not all have that extended warranty. New M3's only have the standard warranty, 4yr or 50k miles.

Your right about the bearing issue covering only certain BMWs, but the certified pre-owned BMW's that I was mentioning in that paragraph ALL have extended warranties as part of the cert. pre-owned program, whether or not they have bearing issues. This adds an addition 2ys and 50K to the factory warranty = 6yrs / 100K. NOTE: this is not a bumper-to-bumper warranty - check w/ a dealer for details.
