View Full Version : Where to find clear headlights for the X5?
R1OneWheel 01-12-2005, 10:30 PM Where can I find clear headlights for the X5? I was hoping an after market carrier made them because OEMs are over $900 for the pair. Hella told me Hella Germany has them but I can't find em. Umnitza says no one makes them and to disassemble the stock light myself taking out the amber lense, replacing it with a clear and to "bake" it back on...but screw that! My stock headlights look like $hit...

R1OneWheel 01-12-2005, 10:31 PM The expensive BMW OEM option...
R1OneWheel 01-12-2005, 10:36 PM my rears only cost $300 to clear out, OEM. Too bad the fronts cost so damn much OEM

Bimmer9938 01-31-2005, 03:47 PM Those are factory headlights with the amber lenses removed. Contact www.customangeleyes.com , they do those conversions.

So basically, they're taking apart the housings, removing the amber, and putting them back together?

took the assembly off the car , then used a heat gun and just went over and over the seals , broke the seals dis-assembeld the headlight painted the casing , then resealed and put back together. it took me about 16 hours of work over 3 days to complete this. its not easy i went through 2 sets of headlights
