View Full Version : Ok...lets have some fun Ced 01-11-2005, 10:58 PM Be nice...that's my road warrior... http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=301441 Serious 01-11-2005, 11:17 PM that was retarded u guys didnt even line up, one was always accelerating before another. give me a couple hundred feet to start accelerating an id walk your car every time. line up, i think the c5 would get you. Ced 01-11-2005, 11:20 PM that was retarded u guys didnt even line up, one was always accelerating before another. give me a couple hundred feet to start accelerating an id walk your car every time. line up, i think the c5 would get you. yes we did....turn up your hearing aid and listen to the two motors start at the same time...watch the last part of the video too if you have any questions...listen to the people in the Vette, that should answer all your questions... duh... :rolleyes snafu 01-11-2005, 11:26 PM Nice vid Ced. Once again, you deliver. BTW your car sounds sooo sweet when you went wot. What exhaust mods do you have exactly? I only have an Eismann sport and it's no where near that aggressive sounding (still have rasp too, but I like that). Also, I am strongly considering the rear diff this month mainly for better acceleration from a dig. Was it as big improvement as everyone is saying? TIA Serious 01-11-2005, 11:30 PM i heard the vette do maybe one downshift and roll on the throttle. u have no idea were u 2 line up from, u race around a corner where the vette completely lifts. ive raced both a c5 and s2 m3 before and the c5 is faster. snafu 01-11-2005, 11:36 PM i heard the vette do maybe one downshift and roll on the throttle. u have no idea were u 2 line up from, u race around a corner where the vette completely lifts. ive raced both a c5 and s2 m3 before and the c5 is faster. Have you driven both or raced with your car both? Sorry, but if you raced both with your car it is a poor comparison and in no way accurate. There is no question Ceds car was pulling hard, it might not be a perfect scenario but better than your comparo. BTW what color was the S2...there is only a few full S2s in western wa. and I think I know most of the guys with them. Ced 01-11-2005, 11:36 PM Nice vid Ced. Once again, you deliver. That's the Dinan Exhaust w/ Eisenman section 2 pipes, Larini GT sports cats, and BMW Motorsport Euro headers.. The diff is very nice...but I tell you once you get that air coming into the motor w/ mods, release that air is more than icing, it's more like the cake :-)... I think it's how everything works together as a system... No video, no believe... :nono :D I could have even used a third gear and you would see more pulling power :cool Magoozle 01-11-2005, 11:40 PM Looked like the first time you guys went he was starting to catch up on the straights a little. Def nice kill though. Ced 01-11-2005, 11:42 PM Looked like the first time you guys went he was starting to catch up on the straights a little. Def nice kill though. Thanks! I got off the gas... can you imagine the speed at redline in 5th gear with a 8250 rev limit... Serious 01-11-2005, 11:46 PM s2 was either carbon or mystic blue, kinda hard to tell the difference. yea ill admit basing your speed gague on different races between cars is kind of BS. but whatever i still think a c5 would pull an s2 m3. " I still think" :lol The stock M3 and C5 (manual) are basically equal in speed... snafu 01-11-2005, 11:54 PM s2 was either carbon or mystic blue, kinda hard to tell the difference. yea ill admit basing your speed gague on different races between cars is kind of BS. but whatever i still think a c5 would pull an s2 m3. Mystic is waaay lighter, Carbon looks black from even a short distance. We did a full blown Mystic S2 at our dealership, I think it was the 257th one done in the US. Anyway Ceds car has alot more mods than an S2 even. Serious 01-12-2005, 12:01 AM i saw euro headers and SS mid pipes over s2 setup. 10-15 rwhp at best. dinan says an s2 will run 13.2 at 108, c5 vettes have been know to run 13.0-13.3 @ 107 or more. not enough power adders to run away from a vette like he does in the vid. vette was in wrong gear, had problems, scared of cops etc. Ced 01-12-2005, 12:07 AM i saw euro headers and SS mid pipes over s2 setup. 10-15 rwhp at best. dinan says an s2 will run 13.2 at 108, c5 vettes have been know to run 13.0-13.3 @ 107 or more. not enough power adders to run away from a vette like he does in the vid. vette was in wrong gear, had problems, scared of cops etc. nothing like a video :D otherwise all talk... show me some real world stuff... did you see the M3 that ran 12.47 1/4 mile times? snafu 01-12-2005, 12:07 AM i saw euro headers and SS mid pipes over s2 setup. 10-15 rwhp at best. dinan says an s2 will run 13.2 at 108, c5 vettes have been know to run 13.0-13.3 @ 107 or more. not enough power adders to run away from a vette like he does mid corner. OMG, I am sorry Serious but you are way off. Stock M3 have been known to run 13.2 and under. Who cares what is published, Ceds vid is real world and that's what matters. This puts all speculation to rest. As far as mid corner stuff, well, drivers make a HUGE difference and you should know this. Again, the vid isn't perfect, but it does prove a point better than anything else I have seen/heard/read. BTW headers and high flow cats are big power adders at 8,000 + rpms. Kevin325i 01-12-2005, 12:09 AM I saw an e46 M3 running 13.00 all day long at 105-106mph. Ced 01-12-2005, 12:11 AM OMG, I am sorry Serious but you are way off. Agreed. No driver will ever be the same. Everybody can't drive like Schmaucher... Serious is not really "serious" :D Serious 01-12-2005, 12:11 AM nothing like a video :D otherwise all talk... show me some real world stuff... did you see the M3 that ran 12.47 1/4 mile times? on drag slicks? look at the trap speeds for both cars. stock m3's dont end the quarter at 108. Ced 01-12-2005, 12:30 AM no way is that stock exhaust. there is no way in hell a stock e46 m3 can run 12.47 at 110. yep..stock exhaust...The engine really screams...think 8000 rpm snafu 01-12-2005, 12:39 AM Driver is so much a part of the equation. Member "12:03" and I in a new 645i pulled on my own e46 M3 with "MZG" driving, it was from a dig no less and the 6er definately isn't faster than an e46 M3. Heck, Silverstreak ran his ZHP 14 flat in the 1/4 without slicks or an lsd (a better time than any published figure I have ever seen). Ceds vid is running from a roll taking some driving skill out, this especially shows how his car matches up to a C5. Serious, give him credit....his car is insane. Ced 01-12-2005, 12:42 AM Here's my car adapting to its news mods a couple of days before the track event... It feels even better now :cool http://members.roadfly.com/cbailey781/SneakPeak_M3vsGT3.wmv Serious 01-12-2005, 12:43 AM ya its a badass car. its a e46 m3. im not going to say it sux or anything. i just dont think cars with that comparable numbers would be so mismatched like they are in the video. im kinda bored anyways. snafu wanna give me a run with the e46 sometime? i got killed by an s54 m roadster sat. night, id like to see how bad i lose to e46 m3. When I saw the video, I was like wow too :-) :buttrock what do you think about the last part of the video when I passed the truck and the vette followed? snafu 01-12-2005, 12:48 AM Serious, I am sure we will cross paths at a meet one day. Ya, I will run ya for fun. I may even let you take 'er for a spin for yourself. gateguardian 01-12-2005, 12:50 AM what codecs are you guys using? :( It's all jagged when I play it Ced 01-12-2005, 12:52 AM what codecs are you guys using? :( It's all jagged when I play it you probably just need to update your media player... Ced 01-12-2005, 12:55 AM u owned that guy in the GT3. it seemed like he was braking so early. I "scurd" him into braking in that kink :D That's a little trick I had up my sleeve... HellBilly 01-12-2005, 02:09 AM going around a track looks like so much fun :( jesusfreak 01-12-2005, 02:44 AM i played around with C5 beffore for about 5 miles or so he couldnt take me, Capital 01-12-2005, 03:13 AM Gorgeous car Ced, thanks for sharing. *In my best Homer voice* "Hmmm, E46 M3 with Dinan S, something, something... " Ced 01-12-2005, 11:56 AM going around a track looks like so much fun :( Man, that is the most fun you can have for a performance car. It's addicting too. Ced 01-12-2005, 11:57 AM Gorgeous car Ced, thanks for sharing. *In my best Homer voice* "Hmmm, E46 M3 with Dinan S, something, something... " Thanks man. Der Spielführer 01-12-2005, 12:30 PM That's one of the sweetest M3 I've seen. Whoever doesn't think that he pulled on that C5 is just hatin'. That exhaust sounds great too. WS6Z3 01-12-2005, 09:03 PM Real real nice M you've got there and awesome kill but a stock/near stock C5 is not match for a well modded M3, especially since it was a slush box. Ced 01-12-2005, 09:45 PM Real real nice M you've got there and awesome kill but a stock/near stock C5 is not match for a well modded M3, especially since it was a slush box. Thanks man. I can't convince my friend to get a stick;he said we are glutton for punishment. He wants a sequential manual gear on the vette... I told him that a manual puts you in control and they are really fun. david05111 01-12-2005, 11:38 PM Sick car man....I saw your list of mods and noticed that you had alot of Dinan Stuff (considering its a Stage 2). I was looking to do something like that to my 330 from Dinan, but wasnt sure about the pricing. They list the Package at around 7800.00, but I noticed that it also noted like 250+ labor units. Does the 7800.00 cover labor also or is there and additional charge for the install? Does the 7800.00 cover labor also or is there and additional charge for the install? you can do the parts ala carte, prices are less for your model for they are priced differently... Labor is not included in those prices. Keep in mind that dealership can give you discounts; so shop around. I got quite a few discounts (as I did mine ala carte), but not on stuff like the diff and TBs because they are low volume items. |
