I thought you might be interested in a 2-day track event on March 19 and 20 at Spring Mountain in Nevada.


Experienced Club Racing and SCCA instructors will be on hand both days to assist you. All participants are encouraged to utilize each of the instructors throughout the weekend. It is also a good idea to ride along with the instructors in their own cars, which is very educational and a lot of fun.


The cost is $275 for two days on the track. Two drivers one car is only $50 for the second driver. If a group of at least 5 drivers sign up we may get a 10% discount.

From the Spring Mountain schedule it looks like the Radical SR3 cars will be running with us again during this event. They're a blast to watch ... and if you ask nicely you can get a ride.

I hope a couple of you are interested in getting some cheap track time.

I think we have enough people signing up already for getting the discount. May be that helps some around here to think about it again. I'm just afraid that this offer will close soon. Signing up for the regular price should be hopefully available for some time though.

Not officially a CCA thing, but organized by members of the local CCA. I loved it! I understand the track is being expanded, it may be done by the time we get there. Here's the skinny on my last trip there:

I have experience, but not what you may expect. That trip was my first trip to a course outside of Utah, and my first time at the track in my BMW.

My training and experience consists of formal education from my department. I am a certified driving instructor for the state of Utah. Officially titled an "EVO" instructor. Two times a year I educate and recertify old and new police officers on driving. My instructor course consisted of a two week course and we train a few times a year. Yes, it is an entirely different thing in a Crown Victoria, but the dynamics and training on the track are same (in relation to line of travel, apexing, braking, etc).

The Pahrump trip was very new to me though. A lot of fun.
