View Full Version : raced a 330ci the other night
petar7408 01-07-2005, 04:02 PM down blossom hill (san jose), in case it was anyone here-
from several lights we went. he jumped slightly, since i had some wheel spin, but when i put it in 2nd i just pulled on him pretty good. 3rd i had like 4 cars, and i easd off the gas since another light was coming up..
next light , i think i took the lead right away off the line and schoold him bad through 3rd (around 80 i let off, since he was many cars in back and there could be cops)
thank you to the guy though, not many bmw's are ever willing :redspot
redrocket328 01-07-2005, 04:09 PM what kind of a car were you driving?
mihalis 01-07-2005, 04:14 PM Nice run man, I always wondered how I would do against a SRT-4, so now that I know, I have to get a LSD for my baby along with a supercharger! :devillook
Let me just say all the comments before everyone else does though...
"he would have had you in the twisties"
"he went home driving a BMW"
"he didn't know how to shift"
:)
Sorry to be off-topic but how does an E36 M3 and 330 compare? What about the M3 vs. SRT-4? Stock for stock that is. Oh and BTW nice kill :buttrock do you have any mods? I know those SRT-4's can be fast. I used to work at a Chrysler dealership so I would get to drive them all the time. IMO best bang for the buck if your looking for performance only.
Serious 01-07-2005, 04:32 PM stock e36 m3 should get beat by 04 srt4.

okay thanks :) I have only ever driven the 03 SRT-4 and my M3 felt faster.

e36 m3 and srt4 is all driver.. the srt4 is 220+hp stock with more tq, but the m3 can grip better
to mihalis, dont go spending your money just yet, i have stage 2 (not much better then stage 1, but increased boost slightly) so, im not stock
330 could take an srt4 stock, i dont see why not.. shouldnt but it could easily happen
Sammyzuko 01-07-2005, 06:02 PM here's a rough comparison of the 330CI vs SRT-4.

E36 M3 can be found on there as well.

Thanks for the info, the LSD I almost definetely want to do, my car is driving me crazy NOT having it. I was just kidding about the supercharger, I don't have the cash for something like that, and I put tons of miles on my car, so there is no point.
You have one nice sweet ride there man! :)

Equivalently driven, a stock SRT-4 should take either a 330 or an E36 M3. An E36 M3 is faster than a 330. It has a bit more power, but more importantly it has more aggressive gearing. A 330ZHP's performance is pretty damn close to a stock E36 M3.
