Anyone local need their fenders rolled?

Im willing to do this this weekend for people. $25 total for the rear (fronts dont need).

Im not responsible for paint cracking or any other damages that may resut. If you feel more comfortable doing it yourself, you can do it yourself, but it'll still cost you $25.

I need to re-coup the cost of this damn tool faster so I can buy more fish :devillook

Eric did just barely flake the clearcoat on my Mazda under the fender.

HOWEVER - The rear section had recently been replaced and painted so it had not set completely. Out of the 10 or so cars there that day, mine was the only one with slight problems, and I don't blame him. The rolling job itself was great and will have him do my track civic as well when I get the chance.

Heat the paint and nothing will happen. I may bring the 325 down on Sunday Eric.

It's definatly slower than my Mazda, but i'd rather run the hatch into a wall. Well, maybe not from a safety standpoint

But now I won't be able to keep up :(

actually heating isnt a 100% solution. It can still crack even with heating... but like Bill said, his car was freshly repainted.

I did have one 5 series that got bumpy due to spot welds on the fender..... and I had an issue once with a guy that cut his fenders .... but no, typically there should be no issues. And even if there were, the paint cracking/flakiing would occur on the underside outside of view.

I'd look to do this on Sat. since I am busy on Sunday... unless we do it real early in the morning. I have to be in Annandale by 1PM.

Hmm... I've been contemplating if I need my rears rolled or not. I am running 18x8.5" SSR GT2s and if anyone sits in the back seat, at all, the wheels rub like a bitch! I can put my hand between the outer top of the tire and the fender. There is actually a lot of room. This is what makes me think this issue wouldn't be solved by rolling the fenders? :dunno

I really can't find where its rubbing, but my only idea is that they are rubbing when the entire inside wheel well slams down on top of the tires. It just doesn't seem like the edges of the fenders, where they flare out, could be anywhere near the tire.

Maybe I am wrong. Anyone have ideas?

Henry

I'm already running H&R Sports, and the ride is already harsh enough as it is. I don't want to mismatch springs front and rear, and I also don't want a harsher ride. I also don't want to buy the stiffer springs, swap them out, and then find that it still rubs...

sorry.....my experience wasnt so hot with that suspension

-it rode wayyy harshly....my new suspension rides so much smoother yet handles tighter
-front looked stock ride height while rear was slammed
-the suspension caused my car to plow like CRAZY at auto-x, never found out why, they didn't perform well for me

maybe for your purposes they will serve you better

For now, I would like to stick with my current springs and shocks, since I spent 4 days of my life doing a full suspension overhaul in August, so they are practically new.

I need to know if there is anyway to fix my problem. Maybe it is a rolling fenders issue? I'm not too knowledgable on the process and what part of the fender actually gets rolled. How far back..

get them rolled. 25$ with the toolis a great deal, I bet you it will help. it never looks like you're rubbing that lip but most likely you are. 18x8.5 will rub if they arent rolled...

Alright I guess I need to do it. I'm just sooo worried about cracking the paint on the outside, like really worried. I'll have to think about it.

i would not worry about that so much. Having a tire bust on me because of a rubbing issue on the highway going 70 would worry me much more.

im not going to say that it doesnt happen but its VERY rare that the paint on the outside cracks.

Henry,

My house. But let me figure out my schedule tomorrow...

You might also want to remove your rear wheel... and inspect. If its rubbing somewhere elsewhere than the fender you will see parts that are shiny inside the wheelwell.

Something has come up and I cannot do this this weekend. If someone else wants to rent the tool, they can do so and host the meet themselves.

Thanks,
