View Full Version : Midlands International Auto Show!
Mojo325is 01-03-2005, 01:33 PM Click Me! (http://www.omahaautoshow.com/aboutshow.php) Midlands Auto Show is coming!
Get out your flak jackets and arm yourself to the teeth to head into the urban jungle and battleground known as downtown Omaha!
Armen, Justin, Jer, Greg, et. al---
I will tell you that this is one bad ass mofo part of town that white guys like yourselfs DON'T want to be caught in...as a matter of fact, I was down there a few weeks ago and BARELY escaped with my life!
Be ye warned!
Also, can anyone snag some of ye olde discount coupons from a local $tealer? I'm banned for life from most area $tealerships....not really, but it sounds super-cool and makes me an e-thug/e-balla-4-life...
It might be better if we stay together in a big group, more intimidation going on, and we MUST wear dark glasses, the enemy can see the fear in our eyes.
Oh, in case you didn't notice, I was being SARCASTIC! :devillook
But really, we should get a group together for the show....lemme know....
Dark Helmet 01-03-2005, 05:57 PM eh, maybe.
Mojo325is 01-03-2005, 06:13 PM .....
Mr Project 01-03-2005, 06:42 PM I've gone most of the last 4 years...It's just so expensive. $8 plus $5 to park, kinda crazy. Last year we tried to meet up and walk together, but different interests mean we usually go our own ways anyway. I like to walk around and make fun of everything, and Justin likes to sit in any car with RWD and have his picture taken. :)
Last year I really wanted to see the Mazda 3,6, and RX-8 up close....not much really new this year. Maybe the C6...but that will be mobbed the whole time, I suspect.
ADRNLN_ti 01-04-2005, 07:53 AM I've been boycotting the Qwest Center. I don't need their overpriced convention center.

Dark Helmet 01-04-2005, 12:22 PM you don't even live IN omaha dude.... IIRC you don't even have to pay for it! :D
ADRNLN_ti 01-04-2005, 04:10 PM I still have to pay to enter and pay to park. In the old days one could just find some nice "on street" parking and enjoy the show. Now it's "rape me" so I can park my car here !
No one asked me be I feel a convention center would have better served if it was built between Omaha and Lincoln anyway.

Mojo325is 01-04-2005, 04:22 PM IIRC, it was $5 to park at the Civic, right?
I don't mind parking 2 blocks away for free and walking the distance. Jamie feels differently, but hey, I'm the one that pays for it. We're heading down there Saturday night...'It's hockey time in Omaha!'

good point, but its proximity to epley killed any chance of that happening...
Mojo325is 01-04-2005, 05:36 PM aksarben was also a great choice to build it...but i don't think anyone foresaw the massive amounts of developement that this would bring to that part of town which was BLIGHTED prior to the arena/cc being built. When I was a kid, that was the WORST part of town, now it is our crowning jewel....I guess I take the good with the bad....
NascarSigEp 01-05-2005, 12:30 PM I have had to work the Auto Show for the last two years. I have to work it Saturday day and Sunday.
E46325Ci 01-05-2005, 02:47 PM I hope with our new convention center we get some decent cars this year. like some prototypes and stuff.
Mojo325is 01-05-2005, 07:07 PM yo, frataliscious (thats you sig ep! :D) can you get me a couple of those discount coupons???? TIA!
NascarSigEp 01-06-2005, 02:49 PM I can see what I can do! Just an FYI BMW is not bringing any concepts. The newest thing they are bringing are a 6 series coupe and a 6 series cabrio. :bawl
Mojo325is 01-06-2005, 03:07 PM ghey
NascarSigEp 01-06-2005, 07:19 PM No shit. I was hoping for at least a concept M6 or M5.
E30VOLUTION 01-06-2005, 10:30 PM man! we never have any good shows around here!
Mojo325is 01-07-2005, 09:10 AM i've gone to the show for as long as i can remember, always go to world of wheels in the spring too, it seems to fall the weekend of a buddie's birthday. every year we go to midlands international, we always leave with a little something something from a car......
