So I took my wife to Amercan Service Center to drive a C55 on Saturday, she doesn't drive a manual, and needs 4 doors. So what do they have in the showroom...an SLR! Apparently it's the only available one in the country. Rachel thought it was ugly, I however can appreciate it for what it is, but it's exterior is definitely not stunning. The interior however was very nice (as we peered through the windows), red, and very luxurious...but would you expect from a $455,000 car? ...they are taking the highest bid.

So anyway's, for all you auto enthusiast's in the MD/VA/DC region it may be your only chance at seeing one!

thanks for the heads up, but it does nothing for me, unfortunately. I'd much rather have an E46 M3, base 911, F430, and many other far cheaper cars over that car.

they had one one display at the auto show. and a full mockup of the engine, intake, exhaust, and tranny next to it. very cool how they mount the muffler behind those side grills and the intake is the merc badge on the hood.

on cars like those, allowances can be made when they're imported. for instance, you can import a noble, but not if the engine is installed. nor can the dealer re-install the engine by law. you can buy the car from the importer/dealer then buy an engine from another shop and install it. fully legal.

It's still sitting in the garage motorless. I think the motor is done, I just need to get the money to Brant for the cams and clutch and pick up a bunch of parts from Bill.

From what I understand there are "enough" CGT's sitting around that you can get one at or near MSRP. I have to imagine the bastards at ASC are going to have that car sitting there holidng there little auction for a good amount of time...until there ego's finally fall to where the market is.
