I have light weights on my car and no matter how hard I scrub there are a few little black spots on the wheels. Could this be from where the previous owner didn't wash the wheels good enough and get brake stain on them or what? I am sure this is a common problem so I would guess someone knows what I am talking about. How can I clean this junk off?

It sounds as if the brake dust etched the clearcoat of the rim. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do unless you want to refinish your wheels. If you tried clay and polish and still no luck, assuming its not tar, then its brake dust etching- unfortunately entirely too common with Bimmers.

THose little black dots just started appearing on my rims (contours) too. The wierdest little bastards. :evil2 Some of them I can peel off with my finger nails cause their in a ball shaped.I am actually going to try and remove tonight with industrial adhesive remover (3M). Hopefully it works.

Sounds like some of them might be some pits with brake dust in them. They are very hard to clean if this is the case. I am normaly all about Meguiars products but Mothers makes a GREAT metal polish that will probly clean the rest off. It comes in a little white container with a screw on lid. Try some of that out and see if it works. Hopefully it isnt tolate for the wheels. Good luck :)

Dental pick and QD. Be very careful on use of the pick or you will leave scratches.
