Hi, I was wondering if you guys know if I need camber plates for 92' 325i? The suspension set up I have on my car is Bilsteins with H&R race springs.
Thanks. :)

You don't need them, but it might help with tire wear. You'd have to adjust them prior to and after track events.

As IslandS52 said, if you are tracking the car and want to change camber from street to track settings, then camber/caster plates can help. Running a Bilstein/H&R setup and not coilovers, will limit the adjustment range of the camber plates because of the spring diameter...you will get maybe -3 deg camber with a caster setting of about 6 deg max, whereas if you were running coilovers you could get -3.5 neg camber or more and up to 7 deg caster.

That said, I'm running Bilstein/H&R Sports and have achieved a compromise street/autox -2.5 degrees camber by using shims at the bottom of the struts where they bolt up. The key to managing tire wear with more than stock neg camber is to run zero toe. You can source your own shims and longer bolts (required), or buy a set from Turner Motorsport for $16.

If you have to have camber plates, check out the Motor-Force ones at:
www.motor-force.com they are well engineered and built, reasonably priced and fit coilover and non-coilover setups by supplying different sized upper spring perches.

I've been debating going to GC coilovers with M-F camber plates, or Konis with my H&R Sports and M-F camber plates for sometime now. I don't want to spend the $$ on the coilovers, but the limited setting allowed when using camber plates with H&Rs kind of turns me off...maybe I'll just go with the Konis and stick with the shims.

BTW, I do have a set of HIOP camber plates for sale cheap...had them on the car for about two weeks and was turned off by the limited caster they allowed...they're kind of crude as compared to GC/TCK/ or M-F plates, but like I said I'll let them go cheap. If you are interested I think I can dig up some pics.
