if you can... don't do the jc route. I'm about to finish my 2nd year of it and i'm barely halfway done with everything i need to transfer to state :(

I can't get into specifics but I remember my counselor saying I had a better chance getting into SDSU than CSU SM because of my zoning. So, I think youre going to be more likely going to CSU SM. Also, dont quote me on it. Check with your counselor first.

Where's Dana pt?

Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo.

I highly recommend doing the 2yr. CC route. Especially if you are a college newbie. At that stage you barely know what's going on, at least that's what it was like for me.

8 years out of college and I still don't know what's going on

They do give some preference based on where you live. If you're below the 52, then they tend to want you to apply to SDSU, then above to CSUSM. I'm waiting to hear from San Marcos right now :alright

the 52 is a state route, and this is COLLEGE, not high school.

there's no choice program. this isnt like kids from the ghetto getting bussed in to la jolla high or something. residency is only used to determine weather tuition/fees are applied. i have a good friend who lives in mission valley who goes to csusm, and know plenty of people who commute from "above" the 52 to sdsu.
