I just purchased a 2005 X3 for my wife's Christmas gift this year. I was able to get a deal on an X3 on the lot that had all of the options that I wanted except for one, fog lights.

The dealer gave me the part number for a "fog light kit" but could not give me any specifics on the kit and if the car is prewired for them. I have yet to start snooping around on the car yet, but my gut is telling me that it may be. Does anyone out there know?

Recently installed one, not equipped with any of the wiring. came in the kit.

That is a bit unfortunate. I was hoping it would be easier than that, like the alarm install. Two questions: What year was your X3 that you did the install? How was the install? My biggest concern would be running the wires and keeping the install clean.

I have installed the BMW alarm on my Mini and the X3 but that was pretty simple since I didn't have to run any wires.

Thanks for the response!

Sorry, I never got the part number since I decided I didn't want to install it. But you should not have aproblem getting it from a dealer though (I know I have never had trouble getting part numbers in the past).

I have been looking for part number kits for both
cruise
& fog lights all I ever get is "well bmw is not doing that for your x3 right now" call me again sometime.

I would kill for cruise on my x3. I should have turned around and taken the car back the minute I realized it (on 76 on the way home). The lack of cruise is driving me freeken nutz. I may sell the x3 over it.

Oh well I got what I paid for.
