I got my baby a pair of cheap pretty shoes for the summer.
18x8 35MM Offset

Now it's time to think about tires:

225/40/18 makes sense to me but I'm completely confused when it comes to tires. I've read a few faqs but I have no idea what I should buy???

I'm using my original 15's as winter wheels. If I ever break down and start going to driver events these definitely won't be the wheels I'll be using (the 17" volks excite me here but I'd probably get koseis or comps). So what are good tires for grip wet and dry that will last me a couple of summer seasons?

What ratings of tire should I be looking at for "balanced" characteristics rather than a maximum performance tire? Street slicks may be cool but I don't think they would suit me very well.

Help me I need to spend money

Thanks,
Robert

Surf on over to tirerack.com (a BFC sponsor), search for tires by size, then start reading the reviews...

One word "TOYO"
they have many tires to choose from depending on what your looking for.
T1S awsome rain tire
Proxes 4 newest of the toyo brand best all around (the tires I'm going with)
for the best and only the best RA-1. Track use only but worth every penny
something to look into in my opinion. good luck

Looks cool seen a green e36 sitting on those in town. All the guy needs to do is drop it. Keep us posted with you wheels when you do the install.

I agree with this TOYO suggestion....I have run T1-S for the past couple sets. They are great in the hot and good in the rain. I also have Proxes 4's, which are less sticky than the T1-S but are just plain awesome in the rain.
