I have a question - what is the difference between the 740i and the 740iL???
Is there any difference in the body itself, or is it strictly options?

About $7500. J/K. Unsure of the msrp diff but it's probably in that neighborhood. The difference is in the wheelbase of the car. The il is the stretched version of the 740i. It's @ 6 inches longer, but it makes a big difference for the rear seat passenger. The E32 il's also differed from the i's because of the self leveling suspension. A friend saw my 750il and commented that the back seat is so spacious you could have sex back there. My gf gave me one of those "things that make you go hmmmmm" looks!

And then for those late night orgies there is the L7 which is 10" longer than the iL car. BMW Individual can make this play pen for you. Most of them are set up as a mobile office with fax, phone, internet connection, wet bar, home theater, hot and cold running hookers, airline style fold down tray devices off the backs of front seats, refridgerator, think that it.
FYI a 740i/iL sport has M parrallel wheels, oversize swaybars, slightly lowered, 2400RPM hi stall torque converter, 3.15 differential, not sure what else

Sweet - thanks guys for the info... It doesn't seem too economical to have 2 (3 if you count the L7) different chassis for the 7 series. But I guess if you have the money, and you're 6'5 (like me) you can have your car taylored to you!
Thanks again

WOW...so every single 740iL and 750iL is equipped with hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension as standard equipment?

Hey duck! hydraulic self leveling suspension is also an option on 5 series e34/e39 and std on the 8 series e31.
