Long story short.. i'm putting a pc in my car(which will be used for audio) and getting rid of the head unit.
How would i get the amps to turn on w/o the remote turn on lead from the head unit?

The best ( and safest ) way to do that is by acquiring an ignition feed directly from your ingition harness.

You will want to place an inline fuseholder with the appropriate fuse within 6" of the connection at the ignition harness, and another one near the power supply you will be using for the computer.

This will ensure you don't have any voltage issues with the high current demands of the computer.

or just use the red wire(switched power) that would have hooked to the HU. That is what used to tell the HU to turn on.

May do that :)
Because whatever Jason said went way over my head.

Up at the connector in the dash, put a wire from 12v switched into amp turn on, and you're set. The amp will come on whenever the car is on...

:o the remote turn on lead is +12v?
If so, that means i can use one of my pc's +12v from the molex connector. So it'll only turn on when the PC is on. :)

That's fine, but you might want to get a delay unit so you don't here a POP when the computer turns on...
