Well folks it was indeed a good meet today .
Thank you Jimmie Jazz for providing the free wings . :buttrock
Now I'm just sorry that I did not leave sooner and take you up on the double taps . :mad

My car started off the day looking like this :

Heres a few more :

Yes sad to say I smashed my beloved E30 on the way back from the meet .
All parties are OK and here is what caused the damage :

http://v6toys.com/is/damage/wreck10.jpg
http://v6toys.com/is/damage/wreck11.jpg

Traffic had just cleared 2 different wrecks on the soutbound side of I35 .
This is the first wreck :
http://v6toys.com/is/damage/wreck12.jpg
http://v6toys.com/is/damage/wreck13.jpg

Of course once it opened up traffic was really speeding up .
I was doing about 110MPH in the clear left lane when all of a suddewn this 4-Runner pulls into my lane .
Yeah out of nowhere she pulls right into the left lane .
I hit the brakes pretty hard (probably not hard enough) and figured she would see me and get into her lane .
Well with the odball wheels on my car now thanks to the fine streets of East Dallas my ABS is not operating .
So the LF locks up major and WHAM , I slam into the back of the friggin 4-Runner .

Upon initial inspection I figured that the ft-end was toast and that I would just get into another E30 .
But after reviewing the pics it looks like the strut towers are still intact ao I still might be able to salvalge it .

Once again I'm alright and the non-driving 4-Runner owner is also OK .
See you guys soon ,

~Teaguer

Teaguer
12-19-2004, 09:36 PM
Thanks for the concern guys .
I'm gonna check it out in the morning for damage sustained .
Hoping that it really is salvageable , that LF fender looks untouched still .
I actually have a still NIB hood and both ft fenders that I was going to install when it gets painted .
Looks like they could come in handy now .

Amazing that you were not cited for reckless driving.

Amazing how fast things happen when you are doing 110mph in traffic thatis probably doing barely half that, eh?

Sorry to say this, mate, but you are an imbecile for driving that way. And the insurance companies already know who was at fault: YOU.

Teaguer
12-19-2004, 10:05 PM
Yes I will agree that I was going way too fast .
I admit that I was speeding , but just guesstimated on the speed .
Nevertheless the chick admits to pulling out in front of me .

Thanks for your positive input on my affairs .

Well I don't think it's fair to single him out when the lady is a dumbass for pulling out in front of a vehicle going faster than her. It's obviously a no-brainer to NOT pull out in the next lane if there's an oncoming vehicle going fast.

Dude...I am sorry to be so harsh...bue everyone else here is kissing your ass, undeservedly. Frankly, there is nothing positive to be said about this event.

And: Who gives a schit what she admitted? You were the overtaking car, going at 110mph, in traffic. That is simply MORONIC. It is 100% your fault.

You are so very lucky neither you nor the chick nor any other motorists were hurt or killed.

I am all for enjoying our cars...but take it to the track!! I cringe every time I see asshats flying down the highway at 90+, driving as if they were Fangio, but in reality not having a clue about closing speeds, distances needed to stop in case someone does pull out, etc.

And we wonder why our insurance rates for our BMW's are so high.

Take it to the track! I will gladly instruct you at nearly any of the DE's in Texas. But DON'T DRIVE LIKE THIS ON THE STREETS!! Geezus...and you're whining that I am not putting a positive input on your behavior?

Priceless.

I would like to have seen you tell this to her if he had killed her.

No. You are wrong. The woman is not at fault in this case.

While the lady did a dumbass move, HE WAS DRIVING AT 110 MPH. Had he been driving at 70 or 75, I suspect he would not have hit her.

Stop trying to put lipstick on the pig.

Dude come on , I'm not asking for sympathy .
I'm merely posting waht happened at the end of a great get together .
I see that you are just going to harp on the speed issue though .
I posted that speed originally to show that yes I was speeding without a doubt .
That speed is just an approximation though , I figure about 110ish since i was in 5th after winding out 4th gear .
Not only was my left lane clear but traffic was almost nonexistent after the bumper-to-bumper jam up .
Also the flow of traffic in that area is easy 80+MPH .

But anyway I'll admit I was going too fast and you can continue to make me out to be the worst thing to happen to the spinning propeller .

12-19-2004, 10:23 PM
Whatever, man. I am truly glad no one was hurt. I hope what happened actually taught you something.

Teaguer
12-19-2004, 10:33 PM
Ok , thank you .
I of course am also glad that no persons were injured .
And I would say that yes I have learned something from what became of today .
Thanks again for showing us the error of my ways .
No really , I'll admit it was a lame assed move on my part .
I was full aware that neither my car or myself were at our full optimum .
I will really take that into consideration next time .

You know if some how she finds this thread or your insurance company finds it your toast. Never admit to anything on a public forum.

I'm sorry about the accident, dead E30s make baby Jesus cry. In my opinion the woman should be held at partial fault for cutting you off. Her actions caused the accident just as much as your speeding did.
