Bit of a noob question as I just saw my very first DTM race coverage on TV (yea, motorsport coverage isnt too common :()

What classes and spec cars did BMW run for E36's?

Did they do any works cars using M50B25TU's or are they all M3's?

What did they use in DTM for E36's?

Yea I tried that, also DTM's website which well doesnt really matter much anymore as BMW dont race in it. Or DTM after market parts

Most of the info is E30 M3 focused rather than E36. And even fewer sites (which I havent found yet) which would list the componentry of what would make a E36 DTM car. :(

DTM stopped running for a number of years in the 90's. Hence they entered BTCC and ETCC. DTM then came back in 2000 or so, but BMW hasn't participated so far. If you want to find some E36 cars that looked somewhat like a DTM version, search for the PTG cars that ran in IMSA and ALMS.

Did any teams race in any classes using a E36 325i with good results or is it all M3's?

All I can really tell is that it looks like BMW's last year in DTM was 1994 with a S14 390hp E36?

Mercedes uses a V8. I don't think that BMW has a DTM car for 2004.

Yep thats right, everyones using V8s.

Did BMW ever use anything but a S14 powered E36 in DTM, or anything other than M3's in any other race classses?
