I recently bought a 1999, 530D with TV/SatNav etc. I can't get the SatNav option on the OBC screen. I changed the battery and did see the option - when selected it asked me for the Map CD. I put this in and it all worked - until I turned the ign off and then on again - the choice had gone. I did try removing battery and the fuse and left it for over an hour... no change.

The S/W was 2-1.28 but I can't see that anymore either. It all seems to have dropped into a default low choice mode - if this makes sense...I have software up-grade disk 24.1 but can't get this to load, as there is no SatNav choice... even if left in the drive for 30mins or more.

The fact that I've seen it once gives me hope but I assume there is a sequence I have to follow to get it all up and running - please don't suggest going to the dealership... it's Christmas and I don't have a spare £1000...!
