I am getting this annoying rattle from the drivers door when i go over bumps. Not the typical leather on plastic door panel creak we are all familiar with. I t sounds like something high and rearward by the lock. Any ideas?

P.S. the best way to take care of those door panel creaks is to spray some teflon (not silicone) lubricant in the creases of the door. I read a great thread about this but i cant find the link to repost it. It was some E39 site.

Not sure this will help you, but my 7 made a random squeeking sound from the drivers door that sounded like it was near my ear. Turned out it only made that sound when I had my left elbow on the drivers door arm rest. The mechanic put some telfon/grease like substance between the edge of the door's inside cover & the metal part of the door (where the fabric meets the metal, if you get what I mean). This stopped the squeek. What made the noise random is I wasn't always driving with my arm on the arm rest when I was trying to hear the noise, so I couldn't always reproduce the sound! Pushing down on the armrest is what caused the squeek.

Thanks for the input. This is not really a squeak but more like the sound of a ballpoint pen being tapped on the metal inside the door. Just wondering if there is a component of the lock system that comes loose? Anyone else experience this?

I get a noise in the passenger door, I took the panel off trying to look for loose parts but i couldn't find anything, i know its coming from the speaker area. Anyone?

I have just noticed the same rattling. Bumps and such. I haven't pulled the panel yet. Annoying and still does it if I try to hold everything with some pressure during the troubleshooting phase.

Let me know if you have any luck first.

Thanks,

I just noticed the same thing last week. It sounds like metal on metal and is coming from the same spot. I was going down a few crappy roads. On the highway or in "normal" neighborhoods - no noises.

Let us know what you find.
