The company I work for, Arrow-Speed Warehouse, in Kansas City has an opening for a phone sales agent. I am not the hiring authority but one of the supervisors. New hires generally start by working in my group and are trained by me. My recommendation does carry some weight. Arrow-Speed is a wholesale distributor of aftermarket parts and accessories. They have been in business for over 30 years. They offer a complete benefits package. Our customers are chain parts stores, dealer/installers, independent jobbers and web e-tailers. Phone sales agents work in a cube environment and spend the day on the phone and computer. You provide assistance to the customers by checking price and availibility of stock, look-up help, troubling shooting and install questions. Previous phone room or parts experince is a plus. General automotive knowledge is required. Pay generally starts around $550 a week for applicants with little experince. There is not a relocation package available for this position. An additional point I didn't mention. Our phone room is staffed until 8pm, so we can accommodate a students schedule. We have had a couple of college guys before. Take your classes in the morning and work an afternoon schedule with us. We also staff the phones for 4 hours on Saturday so it gives you plenty of opportunity to get your hours for the week.

We are hiring again. Adding two more positions, if you looking for work in the aftermarket auto parts business this is a good place to get started. The schedule here can accommodate a college schedule also. Starting pay can be around $12 per hour with a little experience.

Phone sales opening is still available. We also have an opening in customer service. That is more of an entry level position. Any customer service experience is helpful , but not required. Those people don't work for me and I believe they start out around $8-10 per hour. Monday through Friday, 8-5. Phone and computer work in a cube enviroment.

One of the guys in my group took a transfer to outside sales, so there is an opening again in phone sales. Lately other people have been starting around $12 per hour with a chance for a litle overtime. We have phone coverage until 8 pm in the evening. New guys usually work some 11-8 shifts during the week. This schedule is flexible around college classes and I have had people in the past make it work. Please contact me if you have any interest.
