i would love one like this:
http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/10055343/Images/E36%20carbon%20fiber%20hood.JPG

i've been looking for one like that with rolled edges for a 4 door for a reasonable price for a while to no avail. but i'm down for an oem with rolled edges if the price is right.
(if someone knows where to get the hood i'm looking for, let me know, thanks)

is def. gonna fail.....that hood in the pic was in a gb before from emotion garage in san jose, CA....it was gb price of $300 picked up or add $100 bucks more shipped

Lavalamp

ya, i realise it might fail, but i would definitly throw down $400 i would even throw $500 depending on quality etc. for that hood. the one on ebay (that i stole the pic from) is in my price range but doesn't have rolled edges, that's the only reason i'm not getting it.

if someone could hook me up with a good deal (gb or not) that would be great.

I actually saw an M3 a couple weeks ago with one of those Ebay CF hoods and it looks pretty nice - can't comment on the quality (the owner was kind of a dick about answering questions) but it was certainly pretty.

Hello,
I can run a group buy on these hoods. I tried doing it once before but due to lack of interest it never went through. I have this hood available.
http://www.groundeffects.com/images/access/3serE36142hoodcf.jpg
I will have to work out an exact price early next week when I am back in my office. It should be something very close to what you are looking for. I do not have this hood, and have not seen it, but I do sell/see hoods from this company and they are great. My brother has one on one of his MR'2's and sold a sweet one for a supra, they are great quality and they fit very nicely.

Let me know if anyone is interested...
Thanks

That is an MA Shaw hood. Retails for over $1000. I doubt any group buy would work.

Isn't there something similar to that hood that a group buy would work.

This thread doesn't seem to be going too far, so if anyone wants to set up a group buy for this hood:
http://www.importfan.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_113_115&products_id=1205

Contact me on aim at 'Parsha at GTP'. I need someone that will be dedicated to setting this up.

edit: we have a 2 door one too.
Here's a decent picture of it on a BF.com member's car, I can't remember who's it is though :(

I'll be in if the price is right for a 2 door. I'm partial to the ones with the 2 air vents but I'll consider others.

Lavalamp

the only reason i want cf is for the vents, and i need a new hood. so for me it's either cf vented, or non-cf oem.

Thats Curtis's car (Clumpymold)... I've seen it up close, it looked like a quality hood.. I remember asking him about it. Its a pretty light hood but shakes alittle in the 100+ range. Didnt you sell it to him for like $200? if your running a good deal on these i'd be glad to go check them out in person and purchase one. Let me know.. :)

Ah - that's right. I remember having him send me those pictures to put up during the summer. I'm not sure where he got the hood from (directly from us, one of our retailers, or used), but if it was from us theres no way it was $200. With a decent sized group buy I can probably pull $400-425 for you guys.

Like I said, my offer is open and has already been stated - I'm simply waiting for someone to contact me to set up the group buy.

$400 is pretty much regular VIS CF hood prices. If prices were more like $300, im sure allot more people would be in for a group buy. :)

Hey, that's my car!

Anyway, I would definitely buy my hood again. Even if it was close to $500 shipped (or $400 picked up). I believe mine was some sort of test-fit prototype deal so it was slightly cheaper. The fit is slightly off (hood bows up) at first but when it warms up, the hood fits perfectly. The weave is unbelievably nice as well. :buttrock

I have heard many horror storries with ebay so its kinda sketchy buying off ebay....as far as carbon fiber bits go I would rather get a hood directly from the dealer that way you ensure quality and warrenty if any

I always thought it was funny when people are afraid of buying on eBay. If you're afraid of buying ANYTHING online, then it's okay. But buying off eBay is like buying anything else. You need to be careful. Not all sellers on there (not even most, I bet) are individuals. Most are actual stores (SharperImage, Good Guys, Fry's, etc.). EBay is just a venue to connect sellers with buyers. They're not responsible for bad sellers per se. YOU are. :dunno
